Undead Labs made the trek down to PAX Prime over the weekend to show off the new PC version of their zombie survival simulation, State of Decay. The team brought a PC with 2-year old hardware to run controller-only PC version of the game on medium settings at the event.

While an official release date has not been announced for the PC version of State of Decay, a recent post on the Undead Labs Facebook page indicates that the Steam early access version may be releasing within the next couple of weeks. This could be pushed back as nothing is 100% for certain at the moment, but with any luck, we’ll be seeing State of Decay shambling its way onto PC before the end of the month with the completed mouse and keyboard version expected to release before the end of the year.

"Okay. Here was PAX in a nutshell. We brought a PC to show off how pretty SoD looks on a PC. It was a normal machine with two year old components, running the game on the medium settings. We will be launching the controller-only version on Steam as part of their Early Access thing in a couple weeks or so - please note that I can't control the exact date, and I don't have one to give you. Then comes Sandbox (still testing, so again, I don't have an exact date), and before the year is out, the full mouse and keyboard PC version on Steam."

Negotiations for future games in the series are ongoing, but if the original plan still pans out, we could be seeing an MMOG-style game set in the State of Decay universe headed our way in the future. Previous plans for the title are simply referred to as Class4.
