Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Executive Producer Jeff Hickman dispatched his latest State of the Game missive this week with an update on BioWares MMORPG. Hickman acknowledged some of the issues that plagued the game following its launch along with the declining subscriber playerbase that led to the eventual conversion to free-to-play. Luckily, that move has helped revitalize the numbers as Hickman stated that more than 2 million new accounts have been created since the free-to-play launch.
Beyond the good news about increased account creations, Hickmans update focused largely on the addition of new ever-expanding Cartel Market microtransaction features, including new customization options that will be available with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion this summer.
And Im happy to announce that well be introducing several new features along the way, like a new customization feature, which will allow you to change your character's hair style, eye color, body type, or even species (including the upcoming Cathar!) using Cartel Coins. Look for it in early summer.
