One of the most productive moves the Unicorns of Love made was when they replaced then-jungler Gilius with Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek. Not only was Kikis a talented player, but his personality worked extremely well with the team, causing them to be a squad of not only teammates, but friends as well. The trust and respect UoL had for each other, both in-game and out, helped them to become the surprise team of the Spring, finishing in 2nd place after a hard-fought finals against Fnatic.

Unfortunately, that success has not carried over into the Summer, as the Unicorns are sitting at 6-7 after today's victory over the Copenhagen Wolves. It seems that there have been some internal issues, and the team has decided to make a change, as they'll be bringing in a former player, Daniel “Dan” Hockley. Dan has been playing for Mousesports, and will likely be joining UoL for next week's LCS matches.

The gank heard 'round the world

There are those that would argue that Kikis wasn't the Unicorns' biggest issue this split, but that's really neither here nor there. No one on the outside can know for sure what goes on behind the scenes, and this was the change the team felt it needed to make. Hopefully, they'll be able to keep that same friendly, upbeat vibe that endeared them to so many fans, while also improving their record and making a run at the playoffs. For now, we can only wish the best of luck to UoL, and Kikis, moving forward.
