Rock, Paper, Shotgun recently got the chance to visit Funcom headquarters in Oslo, Norway to get a look at The Secret World (TSW) and chat with Project Lead Ragnar Tørnquist about some of the game's mysterious content and his belief that some really crazy conspiracy nuts could hunt down the team for striking a subject too close to home. Tørnquist explains at length in the interview that Funcom will utilize not only in-game content, but puzzles that will drive players outside the game to research the answers to, a topic that we've been hearing quite a bit about recently and also seen with Funcom's ARG campaigns for the game.

But perhaps one of the more interesting things discussed didn't relate to TSW gameplay, but to Tørnquist's real fears that there just might be a few crazy people out there that could mean the team harm given the subject matter of the game. In fact, Tørnquist has already received emails that
have caused him concern stating, "I’ve already received several emails that have frightened me to the core of my being. Of course if this game is massively successful I fear for our lives. I really do. There will be some crazy people who play, because it’s a game that touches on subjects that certain people in the world are too obsessed with, but I don’t fear anything from our community or our player-base."

Despite the frightening emails, Tørnquist jokes that if he were to be hunted down that it would at least be an "epic death" and great PR for the game.
