Ubisoft is no stranger to the disaster game and their latest offering from its Massive Entertainment development house gets pretty dreary with Tom Clancys The Division. Announced this week during Ubisofts E3 2013 press conference, Tom Clancys The Division is an online open-world RPG with third-person shooter gameplay and a cover system set. The game is set in a rather dystopian future, where society has collapsed following a bio terror attack on Black Friday. Invoked by the fictional Presidential Directive 51, players take on the role as special tactical agents in a group known as The Division, trained to survive and operate independently of command.
While its unclear as to how many players the game world can support, it is described as a "persistent, online, open-world" set in New York and includes both cooperative PvE and PvP gameplay. During the E3 gameplay demo, the team demonstrated one of the missions to a police station. After clearing out the rabble, they proceeded to send up a flare before being attacked by another group of players, leading to a PvP confrontation.
Tom Clancy's The Division will launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in 2014. If youre curious to learn more about Tom Clancys The Division, check out the video from Ubisofts reveal below for a look at some impressive visuals and stay tuned to Ten Ton Hammer for more E3 2013 coverage.
