Today marks a sad day for Ten Ton Hammer: it's the last day for one of our best and most prolific writers and community managers. And while Savanja has only asked that we never reveal her real name (either because she’s in the witness protection program or out of a desire to deflate the lovestruck Internet stalker quotient, we’re not sure), her presence on Ten Ton Hammer over the past five years was far from obscure.

Recruited in late 2005 by another Ten Ton Hammer legend, Tony “RadarX” Jones (now SOE community manager for DC Universe Online), Savanja wrote almost 800 individual content pieces for the network. And she did it the hard way – almost all of this content came in the form of guides, which while requiring none of the footwork, communication, and contacts of feature writing, can easily require hours spent in game to gather data in addition to the hours required to write, code, tag, post, and promote.

While Savanja did stints covering Aion, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, and most recently DC Universe Online, EverQuest II was her coverage focus throughout most of her writing days here at Ten Ton Hammer. It’s a testament to Sav’s hard work that EverQuest II hasn’t left our Pulse top five at any time during her Ten Ton Hammer tenure.

Sav was also a fan favorite in her Community Manager role, racking up over 2,900 posts in the Ten Ton Hammer forums and a staggering 2,000+ Reputation Level. Her insight and humor shone behind the scenes as well, and we’ve come to almost count on her enthusiastic, witty reply to whatever offbeat news or editorial rant that happens to be circulating the internal lists at the moment.

Savanja is leaving Ten Ton Hammer to spend more time with her family and personal endeavors, and while we’ll miss her informed opinion, willing adaptability to cover new games, and conscientious, upbeat manner, we wish her all success. To encourage her to stop by, we'll be granting Sav a lifetime Premium Membership and sending her a few gifts as a small thank you for all she did to help build Ten Ton Hammer from an obscure Internet website to a power player in MMORPG media.
