THQ and Relic Entertainment will be bringing down the closed beta server for their online action strategy game Company of Heroes Online today for maintenance and a data wipe. Once the server comes back on later tonight the game will officially be in open beta and anyone that wants to give it a try before its official launch can head over to the Company of Heroes Online website to sign up for an account to join the open beta. Closed beta accounts will roll over into the open beta, so if you were already in you can just join back in and hit the battlefield once the servers are back online.

For our Closed Beta testers, the accounts you've been using to log in and play the game will still work after the database wipe but your Commanders will be erased along with their inventories. Following the maintenance window the game will officially be in Open Beta, meaning that anyone can download and play the game for free. We thank you for your time and feedback during our Closed Beta and we look forward seeing you on the battlefield.
