Sad news for Final Fantasy XIV fans today as the open beta test that was scheduled to begin today has been postponed until a later date. Square Enix made the announcement on its Twitter page this morning, citing critical bugs as the cause for the delay and will be posting the new open beta schedule at a later date.

Because of critical bugs, FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, which is scheduled to begin on Aug. 31, 2010 at 19:00 (PDT), will be postponed.
