LotRO Resource Gathering Guide :
The Discerning Craftsman Evendim
Evendim is a very good gathering location for certain crafts,
and a very bad place for crafting for others. It has a very large
amount of tier 3 resources, allowing any crafter who is not in a rush
to max out their 3rd tier an opportunity to do so now without too much
trouble. Tier 4 is somewhat of a different story. There is
a fair amount of dwarf iron, but it is situated in western Evendim.. a
place which has tightly packed terrain and a lot of aggressive
creatures and enemies. This makes for a lot of delays, especially
considering the amount of grinding for ore that goes on here.
Similarly, pristine hides are found in northern and western Evendim,
but some areas have large amounts of humanoids and animals that don't
drop pristine hides, making it a little time consuming.
Lebrethon is very plentiful in western Evendim, and even considering
other factors, it is a great place to get that resource.
Artifacts are a mixed bag. Tier 3 artifacts are (relative to the
general availability of artifacts in Middle Earth) fairly numerous in
the lower level ruins of Evendim. On the other hand, Tier 4
artifact nodes are almost non-existent, though you can find them to
some extent on the two goblin tribes in the northern Evendim (since
they do not have as many bits of vendor trash in their random loot
Overall, I would suggest sticking to tier 3 products, pristine hides
and lebrethon for gathering resources in Evendim. It is not that
the other items are not there, but there are better places to gather

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 200px;" align="left"> style="font-weight: bold;">Oatbarton/Dwaling: This area
has moderate amounts of Rich-Iron
and Gold, but not enough to make a special trip of coming here.
It can be nice if you really need to farm these minerals and other
places are being mined a lot. Sturdy hides can be found here, and
the Stonecrop Tor (found just behind Oatbarton) has many wolves, making
it a great place to grind for your sturdy hides if your a tailor.
There are no scholar nodes in Oatbarton. Yew can be found in
Oatbarton, but fairly spread out. Oatbarton has very few crops,
only taters and raspberries, in small numbers.
Barandalf: There are no hides
in Barandalf, everything here has no
hide. There is a good amount of ore here, spread out among the
sand, and this is a good place to get ore without too much harassment
or competition. Barad Tharsir, the main ruin here in the
Baradalf, has 1 tier 3 node, as does a collapsed building across the
Brandywine river. Yew in Baradalf is spread out for the area,
though moderately numerous in total. There are no crops what so
ever in Barandalf.
Men Erain: Like Barandalf,
nothing here has a hide. There is a
little dwarf-iron and platinum here, but not enough to go here and
consider mining. Men Erain is a poor place to find artifacts..
The 4th tier node (Forgotten Text) is almost but not quite absent
here. There are almost no branches of lebrethon here. You
cannot find crops in Men Erain.

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 173px;" align="left"> style="font-weight: bold;">Parth Aduial: This area is a
borderline area. Here you find
still mainly sturdy hides, but occasionally run into a level 35
creature, and then you find pristine hides. You do have only rich
iron and gold here. However, the area is awash with ore, and if
you haven't yet finished tier 3, this is a great place to do so.
There are a fair number of tier 3 scholar nodes here, including all
ruins here. There is a lot of yew here, more toward Tyrn Fornech
than toward Barandalf. There are nice crops, including fine
clover honey, blackberries and raspberries in Parth, but they are not
common. They are found usually in the crossroads below Ost Forod.
Tyrn Fornech: Still a place to
collect rich iron and gold, this has
modest amount of these materials. This area has all
pristine hides. There are some tier 3 scholar nodes here, one in
Barad Rath, a couple on the smuggler overrun island of Rantost, and one
on the shore of Tyrn Fornech across from Rantost. This is an
outstanding place to gather yew for crafting, it practically is paving
the forest floor. There are only taters, and in very widely
scatterned locations, in Tyrn Fornech.

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 173px;" align="right"> style="font-weight: bold;">Emyn Wal: This area is the lowest
area in Evendim that has dwarf-iron
and platinum. This area is a bit of a bother to collect these
resources, however, because of the steep slope toward lake
evendim. It makes visibility low and getting around a bit
annoying, plus enemies and hostile animals are closely packed
here. This area is fairly heavily mined. Pristine hides are
found here, but there are enough humanoid and insectoid enemies to make
it more difficult than one might think to collect hides quickly in the
southern regions. The isle of Tyl Ruinen has a single tier
4 scholar node in
the ruins at the center of the island. This area is outstanding
to pick up lebethron from. blackberries, blueberries and
raspberries are the farming products found in Emyn Wal, but very little
Annuminas: There is no
ore here, but to the west along the south
coast of Lake Evendim there is a large number of animals and steep
slopes with dwarf iron and platinum to be found. The animals drop
plenty of pristine hides, there is a modest amount of ore, but no real
competition for this ore. Lebrethon can be found in the same area
on the south coast you can find some lebrethon. Better to gather
it from the less levelled areas of Emyn Wal. No artifacts are
found in Annuminas. Obviously there are no crops in
Annuminas. Again, west of Annuminas there are a very few
raspberries and blueberries, just outside the ruins.
