Guide to Paladin Feats

Feats 41-50

By Nuitaran

A rating of 1 or 2 means the Feat is pretty much useless to a
paladin
and one that you probably want to avoid.  A rating of 3 indicates
that
the Feat can be used with some careful planning, or with certain class
combinations. We reserve a rating of 4 only for those Feats that are
almost necessary picks for certain types of builds, or class
combinations. A rating of 5 designates the best of the paladin Feats
and ones players should seriously consider for any href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?meid=5#Pal_Builds">DDO
Build for paladins.

41.
Precise Shot

Official Text: “Your missile attacks may pass through other characters
and monsters to strike their target.”

Prerequisite: Point Blank Shot, Received by Ranger 11

Comments: This is a great archery Feat, but there are classes that make
much better archers than a paladin.

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(219, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">42. Precision

Official Text: "While using Precision mode, you trade half of your
damage for a +4 bonus to your attack rolls."

Comments: With access to Paladin Action Boost, a solid Strength and
Weapon Focus, most Paladins won’t have problems enough landing hits for
this to be worthwhile. If you plan on Two Weapon Fighting, however, you
might want to squeeze this one in.

Rating: 3
43.
Quick Draw

Official Text: "You can switch weapons and change armors faster."

Prerequisite: Base Attack Bonus +1

Comments: When do you need to change armor in battle? A shield and a
weapon change almost as fast you hit the hotkey. That’s all you need.
WASTE!!!

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(219, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">44. Quicken Spell

Official Text: “While this metamagic feat is active, spells cast
quicker and cannot be interrupted by enemy attacks, but they consume
additional spell points.

Prerequisite: Able to cast spells

Comments: Metamagic Feats are pretty useless for paladins. Their spell
casting just isn’t that important.

Rating: 1
style="font-weight: bold;">45. Rapid Reload href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album08&id=SS_26_2&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="2Hands"
src="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/files/gallery/albums/album08/SS_26_2.sized.jpg"
style="border: 2px solid ; width: 200px; height: 150px;" align="right">

Official Text: "You reload a crossbow faster than normal."

Prerequisite: Proficiency with any type of Crossbow

Comments: If you plan on doing a lot of crossbow shooting, you might
want to consider this, but it probably isn’t worth a Feat slot.

Rating:
2

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(219, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">46.
Rapid Shot

Official Text: "You can fire ranged attacks faster and reload faster
when using a ranged weapon."

Prerequisite: Dexterity 13, Point Blank Shot, Received by Ranger Level 2

Comments: I would only recommend going this route if you plan on
attempting to build an Archery Paladin.

Rating: 2
style="font-weight: bold;"> style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(154, 185, 124);"> style="font-weight: bold;">47. Resilience

Official Text: "While using Resilience mode, you trade attack bonus and
half of your damage for a bonus to saving throws."

Prerequisite: Constitution 13, Base Attack Bonus +1

Comments: Paladins have high Saving Throws, and you can get the same
short term Save bonus from Paladin Action Boost.

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(219, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">48.
Resist Poison

Official Text: "You are especially resistant to poison thanks to years
of training. You receive a +4 bonus on all saves against poison"

Comments: Again, no point in further increasing a paladin’s strong
point.

Rating: 1
style="font-weight: bold;">49. Sap

Official Text: "Using this attack, you may render the target briefly
senseless, though it will become active if damaged again. Some
creatures may be immune to the sap effect."

Comments: Sap sounds awesome, but the stun is broken if the affected
enemy is attacked again and the cooldown is 15 seconds. Check out
Stunning Blow instead.

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(219, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;"> style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(154, 185, 124);"> style="font-weight: bold;">50. Self Sufficient

Official Text: "You can take care of yourself, and frequently others
too. You receive a +2 bonus on Heal checks and Repair checks."

Comments: You'll actually be less self-sufficient with this Feat.
WORTHLESS!!
