Penny Arcade Expo is often referred to as more of a festival than a convention. It's a show for people who love games to celebrate them, and the whole event plays out like a giant gaming party. Everywhere you turn there are people in awesome costumes, people playing card games, people lugging laptops, and people just talking about games. You can't help but get the feeling that these are your people-- if the conversation doesn't give them away, the twitchy fingers do. It's a place where the smarmy guy in the popped-collar polo with the gelled hair looks out of place, for once. And while there isn't quite the booth babe concentration you might see at an event like Leipzig, there are still plenty of other things to look at as you wander around the Expo.
We've made sure to take lots of photos of PAX this weekend so that even if you couldn't make it, you can at least see what's going on and bond in spirit with your fellow gaming geeks (wear your title as a badge of honor, guys... not everyone can list all the different mob types in the Barrens or explain the best skill rotation to absolutely pwn a Mesmer).
