SMITE is filled with brilliant assassins but there are some that are, at this point in time, stronger than others. Every patch those on this list will be changed depending on the impact the patch has. However and in line with 3.1 Dwarven Corruption, these are, as far as I’m concerned, the best five assassins.

Updated 19 July 2016.

Thor

Still a go-to Assassin for many, Thor is undeniably strong. His passive (Warrior’s Madness) can bolster his Physical Power by 50 if surrounded by his entire team, while he has a varied skillset that offers range, control, damage and utility. Mjolnir’s Attunement affords him ranged poke that’s relatively forgiving (especially because of its flight out and back) while it also acts as an engage once he triggers it again. Having the ability to teleport forward on trigger provides an invaluable escape that also pairs exceptionally well with Tectonic Rift. If neccesary, he can teleport forwards, turn, use Tectonic Rift to stun and block his pursuers before escaping. There’s also the possibility of using both skills aggressively, quickly damaging an opponent with Mjolnir’s Attunement before following up with Tectonic Rift and Berserker Barrage. It’s a burst combination that’s capable of dealing enormous damage and none more so than when you land your Ultimate, Anvil of Dawn. The proceeding stun is invaluable for follow up damage by your team.

Fenrir

Fenrir has always been popular and he's particularly strong right now. With a flexible kit that's very strong, he has mobility, a valuable self buff and brings some utility. His Passive allows him to gain additions to his skills once he has built up enough Runes, with those bonuses pretty strong. His Unchained (leap) benefits from a stun, his Seething Howl (buff) has its effectiveness increased by 50% and his Ultimate has its protections doubled. What's also particularly strong about Fenrir is the fact that two of his skills act as leaps, allowing him to travel decent distances in order to engage or escape. His Ultimate is also invaluable for escaping if needed (it makes him immune to crowd control) but is also amazing for singling out a God to bite and carry away. It can often result in a gaurenteed kill against a high value target.

Ratatoskr

A God that constantly flies up and down the SMITE Tier List, Ratatoskr is both fun to play and incredibly annoying. His kit is strong in the sense that his Passive, Acorn of Yggrisil, provides an upgradeable item anywhere. Increasing your power and movement speed (to a maximum of +50 and +20% respectively), it offers a fantastic start. Where his skills are concerned, there's bags of nuisance and mobility. Dart provides an invaluable engage that also slows enemies struck while Flurry not only lowers protections but deals fairly reasonable AOE damage. It's Acorn Blast and Through the Cosmos however that makes his kit so strong, with Acorn Blast providing damage and an invaluable stun while Through the Cosmos offers a gaurenteed escape or invaluable engage. His skills combined make Ratatoskr a highly mobile, frustrating God that can dive into combat, deal high damage and leave without issue.

Kali

Kali is incredibly popular right now primarily because of her damage but also her sustain. Most of her skills (including her Passive) grant health back to her, whether it’s lifesteal or returning a % of damage dealt directly back. In addition, she has some ranged poke thanks to Lash while she also has an invaluable stun in Incense - it pairs exceptionally well with her leap (Nimble Strike). Key to Kali and why she’s incredibly strong isn’t just her lifesteal and sustain it’s the fact her Ultimate ability makes her so strong. Once Destruction is triggered, she cannot die and becomes immune to the majority of crowd control, with the exception of stuns. Considering it lasts for 5 seconds once fully upgraded, it’s a huge amount of time to not only escape if needed but prolong your duration in a fight. Better yet, if you’re above 15% health on its expiration you’ll heal for 15% health.

Susano

Arriving straight at the top of our Tier List upon his release, Susano is incredibly strong. His base kit is flexible but also very powerful with a variety of utility and area of effect damage. Swift as the Summer Storm (Passive) grants some much needed mobility in and out of combat, while Wind Siphon - acting as a ranged pull - can be invaluable if you trap multiple players in its central cone.  The fact Susano also has a teleport in Jet Stream and a further pull with Typhoon, that ends in a knock up, makes him a particularly frustrating Hero to deal with and in the right hands, he can cut players down quickly while heavily disrupting those around him.
