Our ever popular SMITE Tier List ranks each God in a Tier that we consider to be "the best",  its detail is intentionally limited: we want you to be able to quickly view the list and see where Gods are placed. When creating this list, we took into consideration key attributes a strong Hunter needs:

  • Very high single target damage
  • Some utility
  • Value in a team fight, across various areas of the map
  • Strength in pairing with another laning partner

This article will, upon every change to our Tier List, reflect the best 5 solo laners in Conquest.

Ah Muzen Cab

Ah Muzen Cab's arrival on this may be short lived, but I suspect in Season 5 he'll find himself having a great deal of success. The reason why I think he'll do well now is not only because of the increased map size, but also because of the fact his Bees! offer valuable vision through the enclosed jungle. The fact his Hive provides steady healing over time ensures he gains much needed lane sustain, while Honey and Swarm are capable of dealing very good damage when used in the jungle against a group of Gods who are close together. Best of all, his Ultimate ability - Stinger - can't really miss when used in a jungle fight due to its width and projectile speed. Although there's every chance my hunch here could be spectacularly wrong, right now I'm already finding and seeing great success with him.

Rama

Rama has risen and fallen in popularity several times over the last year. As of right now, he's once again incredibly popular. While his kit might appear simple, it actually has a great deal of depth. His use of Astral Arrows, thanks to his Passive, ensures that all his abilities - if he has such arrows available - gain significant utility and potency. Whether it's the slow and burst damage from Astral Strike, or cripple from Rolling Assault, he's a God that can play particularly aggressive towards his opponents. Finally, Astral Barrage is undeniably potent in team fights and ridiculously strong when unleashed within the tight corridors of the jungle.

Hachiman

Despite him being released in September 2017, Hachiman remains an incredibly potent Hunter. His Heavenly Banner softens up any lane if it lands on minions, while Iaijutsu offers mobility, burst and utility. His ability to bombard an area with Eagle Eye also ensures he can make devilishly good use of the tight jungle corridors (it's pretty impossible to miss your Eagle Eye shots). His Ultimate, Mounted Archery, is also fairly forgiving and ensures he can escape easily when needed, or punish an opponent who's low health and trying to escape. Although Mounted Archery only offers a single shot, it works exceptionally when in enclosed spaces against multiple Gods.

Hou Yi

Hou Yi has remained one of SMITE’s most popular Hunters for some time. His Passive, Suntouched, provides such much needed mitigation against other Hunters or Assassins who are crit-heavy. The fact his first skill, Ricochet, can not only bounce but have increased damage results in Hou Yi being a high skill cap Hero with huge burst potential. Better yet, his Richochet also has the potential to stun when paired with Mark of the Golden Crow. Where that skill is concerned, it’s pretty ridiculous. Not only does it increase damage against targets by 5% for every 10% of their health missing, but also affords Hou Yi 25% armor penetration against the individual affected. Finally, it also marks stealthed Gods on the minimap. Crazy.

Where his remaining two skills are concerned, Dive Bomb provides mobility as well as a powerful engage if paired with Mark of the Golden Crow (those affected will be knocked up). His Ultimate ability, Sunbreaker, not only deals enormous AOE damage but also has the potential to slow. All in all, his kit has flexibility, mobility, huge AOE damage and massive burst potential. Just be aware he has a high skill ceiling to really make use of his Richochet.

Ullr

My favorite Hunter in SMITE and my most played, Ullr is a flexible God capable of dealing high damage. What differentiates him from others however is that he has no Ultimate ability but instead a secondary skill bar. Capable of switching between his bow or dual axes, what he lacks in an Ultimate he more than makes up for in utility and flexibility. His Passive, Weapon Master, allows him to reduce the cooldowns of his opposing stance by 1 second per skill used. This effectively allows him to constantly chain through his skills and stances and can be invaluable in prolonged fights. Where his Bow is concerned, it’s fairly standard - a line based attack that pierces, a movement speed increase and a long range AOE. As for his axes, he gains a stun, a movement speed boost and a leap that deals AOE damage. His fourth skill for both bow and axe allows him to change stances but also provides a passive benefit depending on the stance (bow provides attack speed and axe lifesteal).

Unsurprisingly Ullr is a challenging Hero to play, and one that requires a lot of practice in order to rotate your skills effectively for maximum impact. His sustain however - always having a skill he can use - is part of the reason why he’s so strong. You can quickly unload all your bow skills, leap in with your axes, stun and then switch back to your bow ready to repeat the process. He’s brilliant.
