Weekend Game Deals

Welcome to another edition of Weekly Gaming Deals Roundup, where do the legwork to find you all the best digital gaming deals available for cheap this weekend. The Steam Summer Sale of 2013 is now underway so let’s dive in.


Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re aware that Steam’s Summer Sale kicked off yesterday and we’re in for a lengthy set of great gaming deals over the next couple of weeks. The first day of sales have come to a close and this list will change each day, so I’ll just be naming a few of what’s available for sale today. In addition to the daily rotation of game sales, there will also be Flash sales and community vote sales every 8 hours, so keep a check and you catch a game on your list for cheap.

So here are a few things that you can get today: Surgeon Simulator 2013 ($3.39), Fez ($4.99), Darksiders II: Death Lives ($9.99), TellTale’s The Walking Dead ($6.24), Chivalry: Medieval Warfare ($6.24), FTL ($2.49), There are many more available, so be sure to check them all out if you’re looking to expand your gaming library.

For the next few hours you can also get some good discounts in the current flash sale for XCOM: Enemy Unknown ($9.99), Farcry 3 ($23.99), Legends of Grimrock ($3.74), and Runner 2 ($7.49) as well as the community voted deal for Grand Theft Auto IV ($4.99).

The Steam Summer Sale runs through July 22nd, 2013.


Atari may have played the bankruptcy card earlier this year, but their library of published games lives on. Over at GoG this week there’s a new bundle of Atari games on sale with 27 games in total for the bundle price of $67.28. Some of the games include the Alone in the Dark series, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Total Annihilation, Masters of Orion, Darklands, and several more. As is the case with all GoG games, the titles are all DRM-free.


Steam’s not the only one with a summer sale this weekend. GamersGate is also hosting its own batch of game sales. Here are a few things that you can get today: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collection ($7.49), Mass Effect 3 ($14.96), Mass Effect Trilogy ($22.46), SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition ($14.96), Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition ($22.46), and a multitude of other games from The Sims 3 series (also see Origin deals below), Tropico, the Risen series, around 600 games and DLCs in total.

This is the final weekend for Amazon’s summer discount sale, so you may want to browse the hundreds of games available before it ends. Just a few things available include Just Cause 2 ($5.99), Deus Ex Human Revolution ($4.99), Amnesia the Dark Decent ($2.99), Tales of Monkey Island Bundle ($8.95), Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition ($5.99), Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection ($9.99), the Deep Silver Power Pack ($19.99), and hundreds of others.


EA takes center stage at GameFly this weekend for five bundle gaming sales. The bundles include the Kingdoms of Amalur Complete ($9.99 but only $7.49 at GamersGate), the Dead Space Bundle with Dead Space 1 and 2 for $9.99, the Crysis Collection with Crysis, Crysis 2 Maxim Edition, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars for $14.99, the Mass Effect Trilogy for $19.99 (available for $14.96 at GamersGate), and the Dragon Age Bundle for $12.46, which includes the Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and Dragon Age II. Just keep in mind that the Dead Space and Crysis Bundles do not include the third games in the series.

EA Origin

Origin doesn’t usually go all out for gaming sales, but there is one that may interest fans of The Sims series this weekend. You can pick up The Sims 3 for just $5 as well as the expansion packs for a bit less this weekend priced between $7.99 and $11.99. Physical copies are available for a bit more, so be sure to give them a look.

More deals are available at Get Games this week for several Codemaster racing games and other titles such as Toilet Tycoon ($2.47), the F.E.A.R. Collection ($13.74), Bad Bots ($7.49), Civilizations III Complete Edition ($2.49), Dirt 2 ($3.76), Dirt 3 ($8.49), Grid ($3.74), F1 2012 ($13.59), and several others. The F.E.A.R. games are also available individually for discount with prices chronologically listed at $4.99, $5.09, and $3.99, respectively.

Humble Bundle

And we end our trip this week with the weekly Humble Bundle deal. As with all Humble Bundles, you can set your own price and decide how much goes to the developer or the two charities with the handy little slider at checkout.
