1. Daily Column

Fly a spaceship in an enormous universe filled with hundreds of thousands of other players. Enjoy a player-driven economy, PVP and an active community. I don't play this game and chances are neither do you.

EVE Online is an excellent game. It doesn't suit my playstyle, but nonetheless it is a superb game.

Not so long ago one of the EVE Online admins was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, changing the game to benefit himself and his friends. The fallout was large, but the numbers online went up. MMOG players are a strange community no matter how you look at it.

It still came as a surprise when this little tidbit came to light. Not so much of surprise when this was posted. No surprise at all when F13 jumped into the fray.

As I wrote above, I don't play EVE and I don't have any intention of doing so. Much of the technodrivel in those posts means very little to me. I do like the guys at CCP. I've met a few of them and they genuinely had the best interests of the players at heart. Unfortunately, just like in the player community you have a few nitwits that ruin the fun. When those nitwits are part of the development or game maintenance team there can be problems like we are seeing in EVE currently.

An ISK for your thoughts.
