Part 2: Frosty Was A Wuss

With the holidays upon us, what would an MMO be without some form of
celebration? The developers of Vanguard have graced us with the
Festival of Glorian for our holiday celebration enjoyment! Explore all
Telon has to offer as Atnas Claws spreads the spirit of giving all
across the land.



Over the next two weeks we'll take some time to report on screenshots,
news, and any inside information we discover to aid you in enjoying
everything the Festival has to offer. There are such goodies as
candies, cookies, masks, and more to find throughout the land so be
sure to keep your eyes open!

Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

What winter festival would be complete without decorated trees
scattered across the lands? Walk into any major city on Telon and
you'll see a tree covered in decoations. While the size of the trees
may vary, the amount of decorations covering them are the same. Poor
limbs. They look like somebody was too lazy to add everything on there.
Maybe the decorators ate all the popcorn strings? And where's the
tinsel? You can't have a tree without covering it from top to bottom in
tacky tinsel... or maybe that's just me.

If you have a tree, you are also legally obligated to place a bunch of
boxes under them as well. They don't have to actually have anything in
them, mind you, but they have to be covered in some hideous wrapping
paper. I don't make the rules, I'm just passing them on to all of you.
That's what I'm here for, helping the residents of Telon follow the
laws of the Festival of Glorian!

Right clicking on these piles of presents scattered around with net you
an amazing amount of candy and other presents. Some are simply for
decorating your home or Guild house.

The candies and cookies found
though will give you a random special ability that lasts one hour.
These great abilities range from Underwater Breathing to a 10% Speed
Increase. Be sure to try them out to see what other abilities you
manage to find!

Get To the Masks, Man!

While digging through these piles of presents, gathering mounds of
candy, treats, and other decorative gifts, you also have a chance to
come across 3 different masks. Each mask will put a giant snowman mask
on your head. To be able to see them, be sure to check the radio button
in your video settings that says "Hide My Hood". If you have you're
hood showing, there will be no graphical chances when you put the
various masks on. Thanks to the community on Xeth for solving this
frustrating problem for me!



While none of the masks have any abilities, stats, or other perks, they
are a very fun addition to help us celebrate the Festival of Glorian!
