CCP deployed the first iteration of the Uprising update for DUST 514 back in May and 1.2 is already deep into development. This week CCP Praetorian served up some new details about the new content, features, and improvements in store for DUST 514's Uprising 1.2 update.
The first thing announced in the blog is that DUST 514 will be joining the growing trend of other games aiming for faster updates with a near-monthly release schedule.
We listen to your feedback, as well as to feedback from the media. As a result, we have decided to move into a faster, more iterative update cycle. We will be pushing out point releases (Update 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.) on a near-monthly basis. This is unique in the console space, only possible because our friends at Sony work with us to evolve the submission processes to suit free-to-play massively multiplayer titles like DUST.
Moving on to Uprising 1.2, CCP Praetorian offered some specifics on the content for the update, the biggest item being the new Commando dropsuit role, which will be the only role capable of equipping two light weapons and maintain strong versatility at the cost of damage. The update will also add Neo Dropsuits for all roles, Shield Energizer modules, and expand the Planetary Conquest feature.
A few other useful items include graphical and sound improvements, the option to transfer ISK between characters, and quality of life improvements.
