Everyone's favorite monster hunter got some cudos at The Game Awards. The Witcher 3 took home the coveted Game of the year award along with the best RPG title and a Developer of the Year award for it's creators CD Projekt Red.

Other big winners included Rocket League which took best Independent game and Racing/ Sports Game, Metal Gear Solid V for best Action/ Adventure game and CS: GO for Best Esports Game of the Year.

The event was also focused on premiering upcoming releases at least as much as the awards portion. Psychonauts 2, a new Batman game, and Farcry Primal all made appearances.

If you managed to catch the broadcast live, or where on Twitter during the activity you would have noticed a bit of a controversy surrounding Hideo Kojima. Apparently the world famous game designer was barred from attending the ceremony by Konami's lawyers. Upon announcement of the situation by presenter Geoff Keighley, the crowd erupted into a chorus of boos. Kojima was however able to watch the ceremony live and shared his thanks to all his fans on Twitter.
