Cartoon Network draws on its client base for new online game, FusionFall.

Using Comic-Con as the stage, Cartoon Network has announced the futuristic 3D adventure FusionFall. Unity Technologies is providing the engine that will drive this new interactive entertainment for kids and tweens. The browser-based MMO available on both the Mac and PC is slated to ship with 60 play areas. Following is a bit more from the teaser press release:

FusionFall players team up with one another and Cartoon Network characters to defend the universe from an epic alien invasion. Launching this fall, the game targets the growing and sophisticated kids' interactive gaming market and brings Cartoon Network's beloved characters, stars of Ben 10: Alien Force, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, and more, to the fast-growing online gaming realm.

Young or just young at heart, this game will be drawing a lot of attention from all ages (think of the commercials on the network alone!). I'm certain we will get waves of new information as the Cartoon Network bills this as the new benchmark for young gamers' games: "From here on out-every other online game for kids will have to live up to the fun and excitement of FusionFall."
