I have to admit that I dodged Archeage when it first launched. Most of my guild abandoned our go-to MMO to move over to it, and quickly regretted their time. Not because the game didn't have promise, but because it was royally screwed over by its greedy developer and publisher. Effectively, it was pay-to-win to the point where if you weren't handing over your credit card, you might as well not play.
The game has recently relaunched as Archeage Unchained, and can be bought for £19, and promises not to offer pay-to-win elements. Most of the reviews on Steam seem to confirm this, thought there's no mistaking that many aren't happy with the bugs or the horrible server queues.
I'm due to dive in this weekend (I thought I'd let the queues die down), but wanted to know whether you're going to dive in, or if it's a case of once bitten, twice shy?
