This page will always show the latest Heroes of the Storm Tier List for ranked, competitive play.  If you are looking for a Quick Match alternative you can visit the Heroes of the Storm Tier List for Quickmatch page.

This Heroes of the Storm Tier List is designed to rank Heroes in terms of their strength in the current meta. Although some Heroes are considered niche or balanced, those that aren't Tier S or A+ shouldn't be considered poor. While any match can be won with any Hero, this list is designed to present you with the strongest.

Tier List Descriptors

Tier S+ - Greatly Overpowered. These Heroes are undeniably too strong and can be placed in any composition and succeed.

Tier S - Overpowered. Heroes which are often first pick, first ban material, and are considered top tier.

Tier A - Balanced. These Heroes should see few if any changes as they fit any composition well.

Tier B - Slightly Underpowered. These Heroes are good, but often require a highly skilled individual to get the most out of them.

Tier C - Underpowered. Considered weak, team compositions generally need to be built around a Heroes in this pool. Rarely, if ever, seen in competitive play.

Tier D Greatly Underpowered. These Heroes are not considered viable.

Arena of Valor Roles

In total there are five roles in Arena of Valor. In our Tier List below we've indicated these roles on each Heroes portrait with a symbol that's clearly identifiable.

Assassin (Dagger) - Capable of high burst but often fragile, these Champions require exceptional positioning and careful use of skills to secure kills quickly.

Tank (Shield) - With high amounts of health and a kit that focuses on control and utility, Tanks offer a strong front-line capable of protecting allies and peeling for their team.

Mage (Wand) - Whether melee or ranged, these Heroes have a kit that allows them to eat up large amounts of health in a single rotation. If left to their own devices, they'll be able to cripple an enemy team incredibly quickly.

Marksman (Target) - These Heroes typically deal high damage from afar, but are often fragile and easily killed if focused. However, if left unattended they can cause any team major problems.

Warrior (Sword) - Often offering high damage and mobility, Warriors have moderate amounts of health and tend to have diverse kits. They fill a similar role to a Tank, but are more damage orientated.
