Assembling a Team for a Raid in World of Warcraft

If you want to see different creatures flying over different battlefields and play with different characters, World of Warcraft is a good game for you. World of Warcraft is a famous, massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. Although not for free, many gamers have liked the game and its development and expansions since it was released in 2004.

As it is an online roleplaying game, World of Warcraft lets users assume the roles of the characters they chose in a fictional setting and world. Players can do lots of activities in the game, like battling with other players (PvP) and battling with the environment (PvE). If a player’s character is at its maximum level, they can only do raids.

What is a Raid

It is a type of mission where players fight with other players, or non-player characters, or some powerful boss in the game. Since WoW does not permit players to further increase and develop their skills or gain new skills and capabilities, the only choice for them to develop and improve their own character is to acquire better and stronger gears and rewards, which can only be found in raid activities.

Raids proceed with and by a group, so achieving and completing a raid relies on the techniques, tactics, and teamwork of the players. These instances are also crafted to be very arduous and interesting player-versus-environment content in WoW.

How to Get in or Assemble a Team for a Raid

Beginners usually play and do quests alone or maybe with a small group, probably with less than five players.  Unfortunately, raids are only for groups with many players. New players will have to run small instances and level up their characters to strengthen their gears and hone their skills and capabilities.

Many playing options open for characters that are at their maximum levels. The setting of player-versus-player can be explored, and there are lots of options available for group player-versus-environment. Heroic instances and raids for five-player groups and ten-player groups, respectively.

Raid Groups

Raid groups are allowed to have many members, from five to even forty players. It is led by a leader. The privilege of being a party leader includes having the power to make the group a raid group. The leader can access that privilege through choosing the “raid” option in the "Convert Group to Raid" from the social panel. It can also be done by choosing to convert the group to raid in those pop-up menus when they right-click their character portrait.

After being transformed into a raid group, new potential members who are given an invitation can join the group. Raid groups have a capacity of forty players. A solo player is not enough to create and start a raid group, and so a party requires two players and above. Level 10 players and above are the only allowed players to be in a raid group, but then true and real raids begin when their characters are at level 60.

Raiding Guilds

Probably the most famous and wisest procedure a player can do to be able to raid is by searching and applying in a raiding guild with an available spot. More often, the raiding guilds themselves are looking for new members due to the reason that they lost some. Raiding guilds spend their time doing raids, trying to achieve the quests. Raiding guilds can also know and develop the skills of its different members, what they lack, and fix their raiding tactics accordingly.

How to Get into a Raiding Guild

Blizzard’s realm forum is a good place to look for and start for players who want to join a guild. There are moments when not even a single guild is looking for recruits. Players can opt to make and create a general application in the forum. Raiding guilds may also consider accepting good and formal applications even if they are inactively looking for new guild members.

To increase a player’s chances of getting an invitation from a raiding guild, these tips might help:

  • Give your character a nice gear
  • Write your application properly and give it a critical thought
  • Find a matching guild

If chances of being accepted into a raiding guild are low to none, trying and starting a new guild would be a good solution or alternative. Although building and starting your guild requires a lot of effort and work, and even money, it does not hurt to try if you want to. With their own starting guild, a player can assemble their own team the way they want it. Own raiding guild means a player can have and choose great guild members, which will surely help them in raiding. Raid Boosting can also help you earn unique rewards.

Raids are great activities for players who like playing World of Warcraft. And there are many ways a player can join or assemble a team for raiding in WoW. In these ways, raiding is not impossible for players, especially for solo players, who want to try it.
