Some people won't be mollified, but it makes me feel better.
Blizzard's CEO, Mike Morhaime, apologized yesterday for the fiasco that was BlizzCon ticket sales earlier this week. Not only did tickets get a late start selling because of server crashes, but there were also intermittent spats of downtime throughout the day. Some people got through the process only to find out the final step did not go through - and then were not able to obtain tickets because of further technical issues.
While many people expected technical difficulties (11 million people going for 12,000 tickets... hmmm), what upset many people was the lack of communication on Blizzard's part. Customers were left in the dark for almost the first entire day.
I, and everyone else at Blizzard, share the frustration and disappointment that many of you have expressed as a result of this process. We'll do what it takes to avoid this type of situation in the future, Morhaime said.
If you're still desperate to go, BlizzCon tickets have started popping up on eBay. Many are going for $400-$500.
