from the Journal of Gramdrim Ironhide, Warg-Foe

My heart swells with pride and
awe at the sights I have seen before me.  We have entered Khazad
Dum!  Gabilgathol A Khazad!  This hour has long been dreamed
of  in my heart.

All is not joy, though.  I and Iorfariel have fought a hard
battle, and Durin's folk have died hard deaths because of creatures
that befouled the very shadows and pools before the ancient kingdom's
border.  Iorfariel seems concerned with the darkness, and I do not
blame her, for it does not take an elf to be uncomfortable with the
shadows of the halls of Moria.  The darkness here has bones on the
stones, and creatures stir beyond the edge of our torches and at the
borders of our hearing.  But nonetheless, we have entered Khazad
Dum, and Durin's Folk, hardship or no, begin to reclaim our own.
Only one fear do I feel, one which I think is the greatest in
Iorfariel's heart.. where and what is found of Durin's Bane?  No
sign of it have we uncovered.

most important quest chain in the entirety of Eregion is Book 1 Volume
2 called The Walls of Moria
This is because it unlocks your ability to use legendary weapons and
grants you access to Moria itself.  It is not a difficult quest
but some of it has to be soloed.  Make sure you have food, healing
potions, and maybe a hope token, though it is quite possible you won't
need any of that to complete this quest.  style="font-weight: bold;">If you don't want to see spoilers, stop
reading now.

One important thing to note, there are other quests at the Walls
of Moria besides V2B1.  These quests are not particularly hard
(though some take a fair amount of time, and can be a little
challenging), but are noteworthy in that the climax in a great
instanced quest, where you see the release of the Balrog.  If you
start chapter 8 of the Walls of Moria, you
cannot go back and do the other, non epic quests,
so make sure
your either have completed these other quests or do not wish to see the
release of the Balrog before you continue.

Rathwald
Chapter
13
: The Watcher in the
Water
Echad Dunann,

50.6S, 7.6W
You have become proficient
with a lost weapon of the Elder Days, and the dwarves of Bósi's
expedition are confident that you can now stand against the Watcher in
the Water.
Talk to Rathwald and travel to
face the watcher.

(This is a solo instance)

Ráthwald is at the ruined arch near Echad Dúnann, in
Eregion.

Now that you have a weapon strong enough to harm the Watcher in the
Water, Ráthwald is waiting to bring you to Bósi.

(Author's Note: You have to
fight small groups of tentacles, they are
not hard, and then after several times of this, you finish the quest,
the watcher being driven off.)
