The Ashen Wastes is probably the biggest of pain in the butt of all the
books.  The premise here is to recover Narchuil from the enemy
before they use it for fell purpose.  In the process you save
Laerdan, the elf lord, and recover half of the ring.  The other
half, you discover, is far to the north, in Forochel.  The
important thing about book 12 is to form a good fellowship, and do the
whole thing at once. Getting around Angmar in this quest requires
fighting a lot of 50 signature enemies, and forming a fellowship for
part of this quest is just difficult.



A better idea is to make sure to have some hope tokens, food, and a
balanced fellowship, make sure everyone agreed to complete the whole
series, and do it all at once.  Saves a lot of hassle looking for
a group for parts of the quest, and developing a good fellowship
dynamic for the new group.

feverishly within the ruined city, and a large force also returned to
Angmar.

Angmarim can be found throughout Annúminas.



Calenglad has suggested that you may find some information about
Laerdan's whereabouts among the Angmarim.



(Author's note: Anywhere in
Annuminas will do, and the drop rate is
high, so the main entrance is fine.)

quest, make sure to have at least a
