Call of Duty fans still have a few more months to wait until the highly anticipated Call of Duty: WWII hits the shelves. The game will be the first in the series to be set during World War II since Call of Duty: World at War in 2008, and gamers are itching with excitement about being able to fight on the Western Front in a 1st Infantry Division. To keep the many players of the much-loved series happy until then, Activision has released a new piece of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, called Absolution. Absolution is the third piece of downloadable content for Infinite Warfare, which was released on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in November of 2016. It has a new map pack which includes four multiplayer maps called Ember, Bermuda, Permafrost, and Fore, and also features a zombie mode entitled Attack of the Radioactive Thing. This will certainly provide an interesting twist on the traditional game modes, but players are more likely to go wild for the new multiplayer options. An astonishing 18 billion multiplayer matches have been played in the Call of Duty franchise, and players just can’t get enough of it.
In fact, online multiplayer modes are one of the major selling points of the Call of Duty games, and the main reason why the franchise has been so successful. It could even be argued that the Activision series has influenced a number of other sectors which now have live gaming sections. A lot of online casinos have begun to feature live links to real table games in recent years. At bgo, for instance, where there is a bgo beat the boss bonus with which players can get £10 free, there are live blackjack and roulette games. Mr Smith is another site which features real-life croupiers on live links, while Betsafe has a live link to Golden Ball roulette. These links serve to immerse the player in the action in the same way the Call of Duty online games do.
All of these online casinos have used players’ love of live gaming to their advantage. But one thing that would make bgo and these other sites even better, would be to include some of the multiplayer elements of the Call of Duty games. Something that the Activision series has done so well is to move gaming away from just being a single player experience, and get players from all over the world playing together. It not only creates a whole new dimension in terms of gameplay, it also serves a much-needed social function. Now gamers are understandably excited about taking this multiplayer experience back in time to the most famous and brutal war the world has ever seen. Absolution will have to do for now, but in a few months, it’s going to be hard to peel gamers away from their screens when the new instalment is released. Call of Duty: WWII is expected to be one of the best in the series, and it will doubtlessly lead to many more lasting friendships being made through its exceptional online multiplayer mode.
