Here’s a fact for you - E3 is all about peaks and valleys.
Peak:
The game looks awesome. We’ve had folks on Beta all
week long and it’s just a perfect way to illustrate how great
the game looks, feels and plays at this point. A note to the
beta community: Don’t be afraid of the armored
40th-level War Lions that showed up in High Elf 1 today –
that’s just us saying “Hi!” from the
show).
Valley:
Staying on your feet for ten straights hours makes everything
sore. We’re all whiny babies by the time 6:00 PM
rolls around.
Peak:
Actually meeting a couple of True Believers who’d managed to
sneak into the show to come see us, despite lacking credentials of any
sort. Kudos to you guys for sticking it to The Man.
Valley:
Missing our chance to get Governor Rick Perry to pose in WAR
glasses. Ya can’t win ‘em all.
Peak:
We’ve done non-stop, solid, in-depth interviews with everyone
who’s come by. The EA booth has been packed and
jumping the entire time the show’s been open.
Don’t be fooled by people who claim the show is
“totally dead”. Those people just
didn’t know where The Action was.
Valley:
The LEGO Batman
people are giving out Bat-Signal pen lights. I still do not
have one. My time is running out and I fear I won’t
get a chance to go and beg for one in person (and also demand to know
why there isn’t a Dark
Knight Returns hulking Frank Miller LEGO Batman in their
game).
Peak:
Going to the Rock Band
party and finding out that the live entertainment for the evening is
The Who.

Josh saw the Who. That's right! The frickin' Who!
Allow me to repeat that: IT WAS THE FRICKIN’ WHO.
Rocking our faces off for two, solid hours. They played
everything I could’ve asked for, did two encores, destroyed
one of Pete’s guitars and ruthlessly mocked
Aerosmith. Pure awesome.
With that in mind, I’m just going to apologize now to anyone
I talk to tomorrow for two things:
tonight to you. Please indulge me by saying things like
“wow” and “tell me about that in
excruciating detail”.
2) My voice is SHOT. Raspy,
painful whisper shot. Stand VEEERRRY close to me when doing
interviews. I may resort to pantomime.
Tomorrow’s our final day. Wish me luck!
