July Beta Newsletter Goodness



The July Vanguard: Saga of Heroes beta newsletter has been released,
and there was much rejoicing. This month's newsletter rolls out
information on the Monk, as well as offering an incentive for beta
players to snag more screenshots. Each beta player whose screenshot is
featured on the Vanguard site will be allowed to invite one friend to
beta (subject to Sigil's approval, of course.)



As you might expect, everyone's awaiting more news about the beginning
of Beta 3. The only news is that there really is no news:

Testers and non-testers alike both eagerly await the start
of Beta 3. However, the transition to SOE needs to finish before that
can happen. There have been no new invites into beta 2.5 for quite some
time as there are many complications that arise when bringing in new
players during a transitional phase. Before we can begin to add new
testers, we must first move current players to the new set up and give
them time to make sure it works. After that, we will launch Beta 3 and
thousands of new players will be added from both the forums pool, the
Computer Games Magazine pool, and the guild pool. Right now, we’re
working hard to test everything to make sure it all works.



Some cool things to look forward to in Beta 3 include player ships, the
unveiling of Qalia, the implementation of the new diplomacy system and
major optimizations aimed at those who play on medium settings.



While we cannot commit to a firm date for Beta 3, ideally we should be
able to transition current testers late this week. The new testers will
be added as soon as we can after that transition is finished. We will
certainly continue to provide updates about our progress.
