This review of the launch of the Burning Crusade on the Sydney Morning Herald site caught my eye just for the brilliant opening line.

The virtual online game World of Warcraft (WoW) is often labelled "the new golf" because of its schmoozy atmosphere and the fact that players carry clubs.

But that's where the similarity ends because many of them also carry swords, axes and spears and appear in character as orcs, elves, dwarfs and other supernatural beasties.
