RAYA

News Manager & Sigil Liaison - Asst. Site Administrator
A well-known name around the Vanguard community, Raya
has worked at some of the top fansites on the internet, including Warcry
and Vanguard Silky Venom. Sidelined
for a while because of family and other real life issues, Raya was recently
approached by Lady Sirse, Site Administrator of VTTH. Lady Sirse, on behalf
of the TTH network, then proceeded
to make Raya an offer she couldn't refuse.
Although a Canadian by birth and residence, Raya spent many
years traveling North America from coast to coast as an international lecturer
and later the Canadian national administrator for Americana
Leadership College (ALC), a worldwide institute committed to the unfolding
of self-awareness and understanding. In addition, at one point in her career,
she was a DJ/News Announcer for a middle-of-the-road radio station in Calgary.
Raya also managed to pack in a stint of journalism, her first media job ever
being that of cub reporter at The
Elliot Lake Standard, then a weekly newspaper in Ontario, Canada.
Her pride and joy during that early job was the fact that one of her stories
for that weekly newspaper scooped the area's
daily newspaper - not easy for a weekly journal to do.
Over the years, Raya has turned her hand to many different interests.
Throughout it all, however, she kept coming back to her first love of writing.
She has covered and reported on police happenings in parts of Canada and the
United States, a highlight of which was her acclaimed article reporting on
the 1997 World
Police/Fire Games in Calgary. As a freelance writer, she has written for
children's magazines, parenting publications, anthologies, and various newspapers
across Canada. She also worked as writer and on-film narrator for the "Man
& the Universe" video, a popular in-house training and promotional
film for ALC. Her belief is that all writers, who are serious in their craft,
need to be heard and encouraged to develop their talent. To that end, Raya
offers writing workshops from time to time for emerging writers.
Currently, Raya lives in Calgary,
Canada and is hard at work finishing her fantasy novel WITCHCANERY.
The book is soon to be published, bearing the beautiful cover art of Tom
J. King and will be available for purchase online.
