So Long, OVF...



The official Vanguard: Saga of Heroes forums closed in the wee hours of
the morning of January 16, 2007. The closing of the OVF has been a part
of Sigil's game plan for the community for quite some time.



"We feel
this is the best way to promote a healthy and active community,"
said James "Elrar" Nichols in a statement to the forum
community. "We feel centralized communities constrain players of
different mindsets and too often don't reflect the actual opinion of
the majority player base."



Where will Vanguard fans get their news? The official href="http://vanguardsoh.com">Vanguard site will
serve as a hub providing information and directing folks to the
Vanguard affiliate sites. From today's news release:

The Vanguard Forums are now closed but the community
is just getting
underway. Together with leading community members we formed the
Vanguard Affiliate Fansite Program, these trusted sites will be the
"Vanguard" of Vanguard's community.These sites are the places to be for
interaction with the developers as well as upcoming features and news
for Vanguard.

"Our community team will update the site by working closely with the
affiliate sites to gather news and discussion threads that large
portions of the community may find interesting," says Nichols.



The beta
forums will continue to remain open for the duration of beta,
and players should continue to post feedback and bug reports there.
Tech support forums will be available for the live game, as well. For
community discussion forums, look to your Vanguard affiliate of choice.
