What category do you fall into? Are you a retired Hardcore? A petty tyrant? A obssessive? A very witty poster has created a long compiled list of player classifications that I believe we can all fit ourselves into in one form or another. Please take a look and Classify yourself here.
There's certainly been a flurry of posts recently about the casual vs. hardcore loot wars. In truth, describing the many ways people play WoW isn't as simple as labeling everyone "casual" or "hardcore". In the spirit of recognizing different playstyles, and giving Tseric some credit for pointing that out... I present Faiz's System of Level 60 Player Classification.
A few Examples from My list:
Number Crunchers-- these players like to see big numbers. They can tell you just how abysmal the drop rate is on that item you're coveting, and they show off screenshots of their largest crit. They want epic gear so they can see even bigger numbers.
Gold Buyer-- if you have the cash, why grind for the gold? These players are often seen with the shiny new epics they bought from the auction house for an insane amount. However, Bind on Pickup is their nemesis.
Ninja Looter-- the bane of pick-up groups, ninja looters only care about themselves and will take without asking any loot they want, can sell for a good price, or that someone else in the group wants just to make them mad. Despite being on the blacklists of three-quarters of the server, ninja looters always manage to find an unsuspecting group or guild to prey on.
Loyalists-- these players aren't willing to abandon a small guild of friends for a raiding guild. Guild alliances or connections with raiding guild members can help them get into raids, but often these don't work out.
This is an incredible class list! Be sure to check out the full version!
