With the Evendim launch comes new quest. One of those is aiding Aragorn in re-forging the sword of kings called Narsil, but to do so he needs a rare stone called a Silithar. It will be your charge to recover the stone and return it to Aragorn so the shards of Narsil can be made whole again.

A Momentous Decision

When you are ready, speak with Aragorn in Rivendale. He can be found at the entrance just inside the Last Homely House. Aragorn will enlist your help in re-forging Narsil, the broken sword of kings. He will ask you to seek out an Elven smith in Rivendale named Hemeldir. He can be located in the northwest corner of Rivendale near the town forge.

A Man Called Estel

Hemeldir will inform you to re-forge the sword Aragorn will need a rare stone called a Silithar. Return to Aragorn and inform him of what you have learned.

Aragorn will inform you that he knows the location of the Silithar. He will give you a message to deliver to Lord Elrond located in the same house. Deliver Aragorn’s message to Elrond. He can be located in the study on the third floor of the Last Homely House.

The City of His Fathers

Elrond will tell you of Aragorn’s love for his daughter Arwen and of his journey to the city of Annuminas during his youth. He will agree that it is time to re-forge Narsil and he will give it a new name, Anduril, Flame of the West. Return to Aragorn with the news.

Calenglad Remained

Aragorn will charge you with a new task upon learning the news. Since he is unable to leave Rivendale as he prepares for a journey he can not mention. He charges you with finding Calenglad in Tinnundir and delivering his message. Leave Rivendale and head to Tinnundir in Evendim. You can reach Tinnundir by traveling to the North Downs. In the northwest corner of the Fields of Fornost is a gate leading to Evendim. Follow that road west until you reach Tinnundir.

Calenglad is located near the center of the Tinnundir encampment by a campfire. Speak with him for your next task.

Loyalty’s Proof

Calenglad is not entirely convinced Aragorn has sent you. He insist that you prove yourself by earning the trust of his Ranger brethren Astiul, Forchon, and Naethmunn located around the encampment. You will have to complete a series of sub-quest for each Ranger in order to earn their trust before Calenglad will agree to help you.

Ranger Astiul

Washed up on Shore

Astiul is not as suspicious of you as Calenglad, but he is still going to test you. He wants you to search the shoreline for any jetsam that might contain items or relics that once belonged to the Dunedain. Head west and follow the shores north. You can locate all of the needed jetsam along coast. Once you have what you need, return to Astiul.

Sort Out the Pieces

Astiul wants you to sort out the relic pieces you discovered in the jetsam. Use the three rugs near him to sort the pieces and then speak with him again.

Ranger Forchon

Evils Out of Fornost

Forchon is unconvinced that Aragorn has sent you so he wants you to prove yourself by ridding Parth Andial of bats and barghast. To reach Parth Andial, follow the road west out of Tinnundir. This will lead to the Parth Aduial and you can find bats and barghast in the surrounding fields. Defeat them and return to Forchon.

Grave Rubbings

Forchon is still not convinced you can be trusted. He asks you to go to a small graveyard called Gorthost just north of the road in Parth Aduail and use a piece of charcoal and parchment to record the graves. The graves can be located near a stone wall ruin just north of the road. After you have the graves copied, return to Forchon for your reward and to finally earn his trust.

Ranger Naethmunn

They Spy From the Heights

To convince Naethmunn that you can be trusted, he ask that you slay a local bad guy named Jabe Grimshaw. You can find him in the ruins atop Barad Rath overlooking Tyrn Fornech located west and slightly north of Ost Forod. Defeat Grimshaw and return to Naethmunn with news of your victory.

The Defence of House Brumbar

While you were dealing with Jabe Grimshaw another issue has arised. Naethmunn wants you to lend aid to a ranger named Pantescal. He is located north of Tinnnudir along the shore line. You will find him standing near the old ruins of House Brumbar. Upon speaking with Pantescal you will be asailed by a few waves of the local brigands. Dispatch them and return to Naethmunn to finally earn his trust.

A Friend in Ost Forod

Now that you have earned the trust of his fellow rangers Calenglad has agreed to help you retrieve the Silithar for Aragorn. He will travel to speak with Gwindeth the Blue Lady of Nenuial. While he makes the journey Calenglad has requested that you head to Ost Forod located northeast of Tinnundir and lend aid to a friend named Robin Dunkley. Robin can be located standing near a wall across from the stable master near the entrance in Ost Forod. Calenglad will contact you when he returns and after you aid Robin Dunkley.

Unfriendly Eyes in Ost Forod

Robin Dunkley is concerned for the artifacts in Ost Forod that belong to the Rangers. It seems some of the town’s people have been trading off rare artifacts to robbers and he wants the remaining artifacts returned to Astiul a Ranger in Tinnundir. Collect the chest in from the northern peak of Ost Forod and carry it back to Tinnundir. This quest works much like the postal quest. Avoid the Unfriendly Men along the way or you will fail. Once you reach Tinnundir deliver the artifacts to Astiul located in the same encampment as Calenglad.

Ran Afoul of the Bears

Robin Dunkley has recently received news that a band of robbers carrying stolen artifacts were killed by the local wild life and he wants you to retrieve the stolen artifacts they were carrying. Head east and a bit north of Ost Forod into the area of Nan Orngon and search the area near the bears for the bandit wreckage and search it for the stolen artifacts. The toughest thing you will encounter is a few bears between you and the cart. Once you have them, return to Robin Dunkley.

Ancient Statuary

The artifact you recovered from the wreckage was part of a statue, but it is still missing some pieces. Robin asks that you recover more pieces of the statue from the tomb robbers on the island of Rantost. Some of the bandits carry small pieces of the statue and the veterans sometimes carry the large. Collect all the pieces and return them to Robin Dunkley so that he can continue trying to rebuild the statue.

A Howling in the Hills

Robin and the people of Ost Forod are missing a member of the community. A local hunter named Nat Rapkins has gone missing in the Northern hills and Robin wants you to locate his whereabouts. Head north out of town and then west towards the Even-Rills falls and Nat can be found lying on the ground along the hillside near the waterfall. Nat is in pretty bad shape and before he dies he ask you to return his backpack to Robin Dunkley. Take his backpack and return to Robin Dunkley in Ost Forod to inform him that ol’ Nat didn’t make it.

The Gauredain of Emyn Uial

Robin wants revenge for Nat’s death and sends you on a mission of vengeance. He wants the claws of the Gauredain. The Gauredain are wolf like men that live west of the Even-Rills falls. You can find them around the falls and further west there is a valley with several encampments. Collect what you need and return to Robin Dunkley.

Word from Calenglad

Calenglad has finally returned and is ready to meet with you. Leave Ost Forod and return to Tinnundir and speak with Calenglad.

A Meeting with the Blue Lady

Calenglad has met with Gwindeth and she now wishes to speak with you in person. Calenglad makes it clear that she will only allow you to retrieve the Silithar if she believes you are worthy. Put on your swimming trunks because these next few parts are going to involve a lot of swimming. Gwindeth is located behind a waterfall on the far west and south a bit of the lake. The waterfall is called Rushingdale. Swim your way over and enter the falls to speak with Gwindeth.

Corrupted Beasts of Nenuial

Gwindeth wishes you to prove your worth and the first task she lays before you is slaying ten Salamander in Tyl Ruinen. Leave the cave and swim to the island northeast of the cave. Salamanders can be located all around the island, but you can find plenty on the south end where you will enter. Slay the Salamanders and return to Gwindeth.

>A Friend to the Kings of Old

Your next test of worth is to aid in the finding and restoration of two statues of Elendil. First you will need a draught to wash away the corruption of one of the statues by the Salamander. Head north of the cave until you reach Eavespire. Once there, speak with the Elf near the treant. He will provide you with the needed draught to wash away the corruption. Next you need to find the missing statue of Elendil. Hey!!! Wasn’t that Robin Dunkley fellow in Ost Forod building a statue with some of those pieces we got earlier? Let’s go ask.

Once you arrive in Ost Forod speak with Robin Dunkley and you will receive the reformed statue of Elendil. Now its time for another swim, make your way back to Tyl Ruinen. On the southeast of the island is a small dune just away from the island with an empty base on it. Head over to that base and replace the first statue of Elendil. Make your way to the southwest corner of the island. There, you will find another statue of Elendil, but this one has been corrupted by the Salamander. Use the draught on the statue to cleanse it of corruption. Now that you have restored the statues return to Gwindeth.

That Which I Value Most

Gwindeth is pleased that you have succeeded in restoring the statues. She now gives you one final task. She wants you to give her the one thing she wants most. This is tricky if you haven’t been paying attention, but I managed to figure things out pretty quick. The thing she wants most is respect. Show it to her by giving her a /kneel and you will show her the respect she seeks.

The Tomb of Elendil

Gwindeth is pleased that you have proven yourself worthy and that Aragorn has learned a lesson since their last meeting. She has agreed to lower the water blocking access to the Tomb of Elendil to allow you to enter and retrieve the Silithar.

You now have access to the Tomb of Elendil. Take a strong fellowship with you. It’s a rough crowd down there.
