When it comes to World of Warcraft, there are
plenty of things players can see as “wrong” with the game. The list is
varied and could probably go on and on. However, when it comes to World of
Warcraft cinematics, we can all get on board with the fact that when it
comes to cinematics, Blizzard almost always does things absolutely,
wonderfully, right.

We've laughed, cried, and had our passions
stirred all at the hands of those mini movies linked to the game we love.
Picking favorites from the massive amount of cinematics linked to World of
Warcraft can be darn near impossible. In spite of the seeming
impossibility of the task, we have gone through the cinematics and picked
five of the very best. Check them out below and see if they match up with
your favorites:

Top 5 World of Warcraft Cinematics

Wrathgate

Wrath of the Lich King is one of my personal
favorite expansions. I enjoyed it from start to finish. In the middle of
all the epicness is a cutscene that will forever stick in my, and many
other player's memories forever; the infamous Wrathgate. From the moment
this cinematic begins players are swept up into the passion of the moment.
Horde and Alliance joining together to make a stand against the Lich King
only to be brutally betrayed. Then the dragons come. No other cinematic
has ever had quite the effect on me that this one has and for this reason,
not to mention the sheer epicness of it all, that this cinematic makes the
top of the list.

The Fall of the Lich King

As previously mentioned, Wrath of the Lich
King is one of my favorite (and many other player's) expansions. The
entire expansion Arthas is lurking in the background, taunting us. When we
finally got the chance breach Icecrown Citadel and make our way to take on
the Lich King himself, it was pretty intense. When finally the Lich King
was reached, we expected an epic fight and we got it. What we couldn't
anticipate was the epic cinematic waiting for us after the fight was over.
The touching moment between father and son and the rise of the new Lich
King made this one of the best cinematic moments in game.

Mists of Pandaria Introduction

The newest World of Warcraft expansion caused
quite a controversy. People either really seem to love it or really,
really hate it with no middle ground in between. No matter your feelings
on the expansion, one thing we can all agree on is that the cinematic for
it was nothing short of amazing. Capturing the beauty of Pandaria, plus
one of WoW's all time favorite characters in riveting action, this
cinematic is one that could easily be watched over and over again and
never become dull. If this mini movie didn't make you want to at least try
the expansion, then nothing else will.

The Fall of Deathwing

While many of us were a bit disappointed with
the way the Deathwing fight was portrayed, especially considering
Deathwing was one of the biggest baddies we had faced thus far, we at
least got an epic ending to it all. The cinematics after (and during) the
battle of Deathwing are simply epic. There is something stirring about
watching the Horde and Alliance plummet from their airships to the back of
this enormous dragon. Then we find another epic cinematic at the end of
the fight, where we learn that Aggra is pregnant, the dragon aspects have
lost all their powers, and Azeroth has entered a brand new age where the
world will be directly tied to mortals. All this packed into this tiny
movie easily puts the demise of Deathwing on the list.

World of Warcraft Original Cinematic

When compared to some of the cinematics
churned out recently, the original World of Warcraft cinematic is
obviously a little dated. However, this cinematic makes the list not only
because of how well done it was, but because of what it stands for. This
cinematic drew myself, and millions of other players into the game. This
was the first look we had of mages, druids, and the world of Azeroth in
general. This cinematic is the reason why I rolled a druid as my first
character. Any World of Warcraft player who re-watches this cinematic will
likely feel at least a stirring of sweet nostalgia. For this reason this
cinematic finishes off the list of top 5.
