Mythic announces the minimum system specs for WAR.
Minimum systems specs should have a warning label with terms such as "Your mileage may vary, all systems are not created equal, use of this product while pregnant may cause you to smoke," etc. The system specs are devoured by the public with critical eyes and some want to know if the bar is being set too high and won't run well fresh out of the box (i.e. Vanguard) or cry that the developers are sandbagging the specs to make the game appear accessible to all machines. Well, we have the first round of numbers from the WAR Herald and you can determine which camp you are in, so without further ado:
PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
For Windows XP
· 2.5 GHz P4 (single core) processor or equivalent
· 1 Gigabyte RAM
· A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
· At least 15 GB of hard drive spaceFor Windows VISTA
· 2.5 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
· 2 Gigabyte RAM
· A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
· At least 15 GB of hard drive space
Those appear reasonable, but then I'm a reasonable guy with a reasonable machine, and it appears I'll be fine running WAR at reasonable settings.
Please note the absence of other operating systems, unless you consider a Mac running Boot Camp a Windows Machine which I guess would still be a Windows machine, oh the irony. For a complete list of video card compatibilities, read the rest of the specs at the Warhammer Herald.
