While this rumor comes via a news report that has been translated than republished in an English format (so take this news with a grain of salt), apparently Blizzard and its Chinese World of Warcraft publisher, The9, have been butting heads recently, which may be resulting in a delay for the release of Wrath of the Lich King in China. An executive from The9 denies the story, but any issue with an MMO in the worlds largest country is worth a look.

Meanwhile, The9 will not give up the renewed contract, because it will inflict a heavy loss on the stock market without the game's support. As Blizzard wants to lift up the purchase price of the expansion pack, the Chinese operator is trying to force its partner to renew their contract as soon as possible through postponing the release.
