Happy Birthday to my lovely wife. Perhaps this will be the day that she doesn't cringe upon reading this column.
Remember, remember the 5th of December. For it was the day that Blizzard revamped World of Warcraft, rendering every user interface add-on (U.I.) useless. The crying and gnashing of teeth will be unprecendented. The U.I. has been nerfed. I can hear the wailing already. Ironically the patch is titled "Before The Storm"
A long long time ago...
I can still remember
How that U.I. used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could heal those miscreants
And, maybe, they'd be happy for a while
But December made me shiver
With every patch that they'd deliver
Bad news on the Burning Steppes
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about the changes, tried
But something touched me deep inside
The day the U.I. died.
So bye-bye, my favourite U.I.
Drove my browser to the db,
But the db was dry
And them fanbois was drinkin whiskey and rye
Singin, this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Apologies, yet again, to Don McLean.
Decursive may be the add-on that most people will miss as it acted as a one-button heal, cure, choosing the appropriate spell for each situation. The player simply had to choose the target, fire and forget.
Don't forget to check our U.I. database for the latest updates and our WoW community for the lastest reactions to this change.
Which mods will you miss the most? If your favourite already ported over to the new standards?Do tell, either in the comments section of the blog or in our forums!

Lord of the Rings Online: You Must Be This Tall To Play This Game
" When we look at some of the basic similarities of the display of violence in MMO design, what we find is that most of the violence that's portrayed are very little more than blood drop icons, a generic reddish (or some alien color) mist that emerges from the victim or other sanitized visual representation of damage and injury. When I impale an orc, there are times I want to see the sword coming out the back, when I take a hammer and flatten a troll's head, I want to hear the bones break. " -
