Loading... putting the 'Mo' in MMOG.

First, the Ten Ton Pulse, your finger on the beating heart of the MMOG industry.

If the Top 10 isn't enough, we also show the Top 20 and Top 50 lists as well, available to everyone on our homepage. (What is Pulse?)

  1. Warhammer Online - 200 BPM
  2. World of Warcraft - 149 BPM
  3. Age of Conan - 52 BPM
  4. EVE Online - 20 BPM
  5. Tabula Rasa - 16 BPM
  6. Jumpgate Evolution - 14 BPM
  7. Lord of the Rings Online - 10 BPM
  8. Atlantica - 9 BPM
  9. Dungeon Runners - 9 BPM
  10. Everquest II - 7 BPM

The Leipzig Game Convention, arguably the most important gaming event on the planet starts on Monday. Most of our coverage team, including yours truly fly out tomorrow for a Sunday arrival. Our coverage lineup is nothing short of spectacular. If you have questions for any of the MMOG developers now is the time to get them to us.

An early "Happy Birthday" to Phil Comeau who happens to be one of the Ten Ton Hammer team that will be in Leipzig. What better place could there be for a birthday than the brew houses of Germany?

One of the victims of the recent NCSoft layoffs which I have mentioned in the previous two Loading... columns was Scott Jennings, who according to Wikipedia is the most important game developer in the world. Another victim is April Burba, who was only recently made Associate Producer on Tabula Rasa. April is one of my favourite industry personalities. I wish her and everyone else who is now job hunting all the best.

The flow of new information from development teams has reduced from a torrent to a trickle with Leipzig just around the corner. GenCon and SOE FanFaire both start tomorrow. Who decided putting all these events on the same days was a good idea? I know it wasn't my wife, who will be celebrating our wedding anniversary alone. I haven't told her yet that BlizzCON is at the same time as Canadian Thanksgiving. When our team is traveling, you become our family, so hold on tight, keep your eyes on the site and enjoy the coverage that will coming flooding your way starting Monday.

The Loading Forums await you. Do you feel the need to contact me personally with naughty pictures or derogatory comments? Here's my E-mail.

Ten Ton Hammer Epic Thread of the Day

Sometimes
their funny; sometimes they're foolish; sometimes they're flaming;
sometimes they're cool. Whatever this one happens to be, it's
our Epic Thread of the Day.

====================
From our Warhammer Online community forum
Submitted by Kralle

"So I have played it and I am unimpressed"

It
started with a guy named Persius. He's apparently unimpressed with WAR.
He didn't express himself very well. He earned himself an asbestos suit
and a reputation in the -500s as a result. Poor Persius is crying on
the inside; we just know it.We hope he enjoyed the barbecue, though.

Awesome Quote from the Epic Thread:

"Selling babies is far more profitable than eating them." - Annatar
