Week in Review

My game of the week was Wurm
Online. This game from OneTooFree AB is a real sandbox
game akin to the multi-user dungeons (MUDs) of the previous generation.
It runs in Java and actually looks pretty good. The real issue is
whether or not today's gamer is willing to work for his game anymore. I
mean, are we completely spoiled by quest non-player characters with
exclamation points above their heads?



It only took me one night of playing to answer my questions about style="font-style: italic;">Wurm Online. I'm
too lazy to play a MUD these days--no matter how pretty that MUD is.
So, Wurm Online
does not make the list. That does not mean it is a bad game. It just
doesn't fit my style.



Like a girlfriend I just can't stay mad at, style="font-style: italic;">Mythos has
reclaimed the number 1 slot on my list. I truly believe the game is good
enough to be a pay-to-play game. Luckily, we'll get it for free.
