Since
Thom let a hint slip in the second part of our interview series with
him ( href="http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=864">here)
that the griffon would not be the only flying mount available, this
week's poll takes a look at which mount you would choose and why. Are
you a purely stats oriented person, or does your chosen mount have to
match the personality of your character? If you

Pegasus (stats)

Pegasus may not be the fastest beast in the air, but he has some
serious ground speed to make up for it. Compares to the other flying
mounts, an air speed of 190 may seem too slow, but keep in mind how
much fun many players had last month with Randolph, the Flying
Reindeer. He had a slower flight speed (+150) and a fraction of the
ground
speed. On the basis of those facts, don't count Pegasus out of the stat
race just yet.

Pegasus (character driven)

This choice is for individuals that even though they may not be happy
with the assumed stats of Pegasus, they'll choose him anyways simply
because it's a part of their character. Are you wood elf ranger that
has to have a flying horse to fly around the world? This choice is for
you!

Griffon (stats)

I predict the majority of players will choose the griffon simply for
being at the top of the spectrum in terms of air speed. The ground
speed may leave something to be desired, but no other mount in the game
can match the pure speed of a griffon in the air.

Griffon (character driven)

For the sake of being fair, I had to put this choice in the mix, but I
will be highly surprised if it's chosen. Why? This choice is for those
players that would prefer to have a wyvern or Pegasus for the stats,
but will choose a griffon purely on the basis of, "That's what my
character would do."

Wyvern (stats)

The wyvern offers an great middle ground among the flying mounts of
Telon. They may not be the fastest in either the air or on the ground,
but at the same time, they're also not the slowest in either area.
Choose this if having a nice middle ground between air and ground speed
is important.

Wyvern (character driven)

The wyvern as a character choice is for those individuals that are
dying to have either a griffon or pegasus due to the stats for each,
but just has to have a wyvern for personal character reasons. Have an
evil dark elf necromancer that wants the speed of a griffon, but feels
it just won't "fit"? This choice is for you!
