Feats 21-30 style="font-style: italic;">

By Nuitaran

We have rated the Feats below based on our experience as to which are
going to be most helpful and useful. Feats are rated on a scale of 1-5
with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. A rating of 1 or 2 means
the Feat is pretty much useless to a barbarian and one that you
probably want to avoid.

A rating of 3 indicates that the Feat can be
used with some careful planning, or with certain class combinations. We
reserve a rating of 4 only for those Feats that are almost necessary
picks for certain types of builds or class combinations. A rating of 5
designates the best of the barbarian Feats and ones players should
seriously consider for any DDO Build involving barbarians.

To help you navigate the many Feats, just click on
the range of Feats below to move to that spot in the guide:

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">21. Improved Trip

Official Text: "Using this attack, you may trip the target, rendering
it prone for a longer time. Some creatures may be immune to this
effect."

Prerequisite: Intelligence 13, Combat Expertise

Comments: Although it takes a lot of Feats to get here, it’s more
useful than Improved Sunder. This is definitely something to think
about for any melee class.

Rating: 4
22.
Improved Two Handed Fighting

Official Text: "Increases the damage of glancing blow attacks when
wielding a two-handed weapon."

Prerequisite: Strength 17, Base Attack Bonus +6, Two Handed Fighting

Comments: I know it’s tempting to make that cliché greataxe
wielding Barbarian, but seeing it makes the cleric wince a little. If
this is what you really want, go for it, but I would seriously
recommend backing it up with a level of Fighter for Heavy Armor
proficiency.

Rating:

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">23. Improved Two Weapon Fighting

Official Text: "Increases the number of attacks when fighting with two
weapons."

Prerequisite: Dexterity 17, Base Attack Bonus +6, Two Weapon Fighting,
Received by Ranger 6

Comments: With the changes to the combat system from Module 3, and the
rates of Two Weapon Fighting, it has become a serious DPS [Damage Per
Second] style. I think Barbarians are better served focusing in other
areas as getting all of these feats require a Dexterity that you might
not want to waste resources pursuing.

Rating: 2
24.
Iron Will

Official Text: "Grants you a +2 bonus on your Will saves."

Comments: Barbarians are lacking in Will saves, especially when not
Raging. There’s nothing wrong with taking this to boost it a little.

Rating:
3

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">25. Lightning Reflexes

Official Text: "Grants you a +2 bonus on your Reflex saves."

Comments: Think about Iron Will instead.

Rating: 1
26.
Luck of the Heroes

Official Text: "Grants you a +1 bonus on all saves."

Comments: Again, better off with Iron Will.

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">27. Manyshot

Official Text: “By activating this ability, you can shoot two arrows
simultaneously for a time.”

Prerequisite: Dexterity 17, Base Attack Bonus +6, Point Blank Shot,
Rapid Shot, Received by Ranger Level 6

Comments: I just don’t see an archery based Barbarian as an extremely
viable option. Fighters and Rangers can do the job better.

Rating: 1
28.
Mobility

Official Text: "Adds a +4 bonus to Armor Class while tumbling."

Prerequisite: Dodge

Comments: This leads to Spring Attack, a feat that I personally use in
almost all my builds. If you love Spring Attack as much as I do, or
like to tumble out of the way of monster attacks, this is a feat for
you.

Rating:
4

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">29. Negotiator

Official Text: "You have a knack for gauging and swaying attitudes. You
receive a +2 bonus on Diplomacy checks and Haggle checks."

Comments: This isn’t worth a feat at all.

Rating: 1
30.
Nimble Fingers

Official Text: “You are adept at manipulating small, delicate objects.
You receive a +2 bonus on Disable Device checks and Open Locks checks.

Comments: Leave it to the Rogues.
