“The
northern winds are angry and carry with them the stench of death.
Restless souls are stirring and icy apparitions roam the forests
outside of Force Station Steelhead. There is a malevolent force at work
there. I must return soon to fight for all living beings in the area
may fall prey to it.

style="font-style: italic;">

I
would not willingly fight this evil alone. Will you travel north with
me and set these spirits to rest? “

- Ravenspeaker

You’ve saved Millennium City from the Qulaar invasion, not
only earning the eternal respect of the Champions, but the key to the
city from Mayer Bissell himself. No sooner have you begun to celebrate
your victory amidst a crowd of cheering onlookers than your attention
is diverted by two Champions greatly in need of your assistance;
Witchcraft and Ravenspeaker. The latter urgently requests that you aid
him with the current crisis in Canada before Force Station Steelhead is
lost to the legions of ice demons wreaking havoc in the nearby forests.

Think of the crisis zones in href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/co" target="_blank"> style="font-style: italic;">Champions Online
as a cool story arc spanning a few issues of your favorite comic
series, only instead of watching the action unfold with each turn of
the page, you get to be part of the action and play the hero. This
guide will provide a complete walkthrough of the Crisis in Canada, so
snap on your show shoes and grab your best zombie-whacking stick.

Before diving headlong into the nitty gritty details on what makes this
particular crisis zone tick, here are a few basic tips that should
prove useful in your mission to rid the Canadian wilderness of demons
and put a stop to the unnatural storms plaguing the area:

  • You have the option to
    travel between the Crisis in Canada and Desert
    Disaster at will, though you can only complete one of the two
    zones’ final boss missions to complete the mission arc.

  • While you’re not
    required to select a crafting profession to
    complete the crisis zone, the result of the quests listed below will be
    a Coldshield device that will be extremely handy once you reach the
    final boss confrontation at the end of the mission arc.

  • Zombies are a bit trickier
    than your average henchmen; they like to get
    back up and keep on fighting. When their health drops to zero, watch
    for them to fall and then immediately start attacking again to prevent
    their health bar from refilling completely.

  • Ice Shamans typically roam
    throughout the zone. As Master Villains,
    their charged attacks can be devastating, so be sure to block as soon
    as you notice the ‘tell’ appear above their heads.

  • To receive full credit for
    the Raiders
    on the Storm
    Perk,
    you’ll need to see Justicar back at Force Station Steelhead
    once Rakshasa has been defeated. This will also grant you credit
    towards the style="font-style: italic;">Shadow of the Destroyer
    Perk, which spans multiple mission
    arcs and lore discoveries, but nets you a cool 100 points upon
    completion.

  • style="margin: 2px; width: 210px; float: right;">

    src="/image/view/72354">

  • style="font-style: italic;">Blight of the Living Dead
    is
    an Open Mission unique to the Crisis in
    Canada zone, and can be a lot of fun for all you zombie slayers out
    there. Even if you ultimately opt to run through the Desert Disaster
    instead, you can still hop onboard a helicopter at Project Greenskin to
    get into some undead fun once you arrive at Force Station Steelhead.

  • Each mission listed below
    will have the mission level in brackets for
    easy reference.

  • While the entire crisis zone
    can be
    completed solo, grouping can increase the challenge (and potential
    rewards) thanks to the Reinforcements system. This holds especially
    true for the final confrontation with Rakshasa, which becomes a much
    more challenging (and fun) mission should you opt to go into the Forest
    Tomb with a few friends.

style="font-weight: bold;">

Upon reaching Canada, your first stop will be Justicar, an NPC
centrally located in Force Station Steelhead that will serve as your
primary contact throughout the mission arc. Along with the opening
missions in the main quest chain, he will also offer you a quest that
will set you on the path to selecting one of the three primary crafting
professions. While full details on the crafting system are beyond the
scope of this guide, the following information and quests will get you
headed in the right direction.

to create the device. Upon creation of the device the quest will update

The following list details the main quests you’ll need to
complete in order to advance through the story arc in Canada, the

Steelhead. For the most part these missions will focus on dealing with
immediate concerns of rescuing the survivors of the Oceanica planes
brought down by the unnatural storms surrounding the area. Along the
way you’ll be fighting lots of ice demons and zombies as you
unravel the mysteries of the crisis, eventually leading you back to
Ravenspeaker atop a small hill SE of Steelhead.

Return to Justicar at Steelhead for your reward upon completion.

style="margin: 2px; width: 210px; float: right;">

Passengers in Permafrost

Justicar

QUEST
TYPE
: Rescue / Device
Interaction

OBJECTIVES:
Use the Hypothermiac Laser to thaw out Oceanica passengers
that have been encased in ice by demons (5)

DETAILS:
This will be similar to the other rescue missions
you’ve completed so far, but with a twist. First,
you’ll need to defeat any ice demons surrounding the frozen
passengers (otherwise they interrupt the thawing process), and then
you’ll need to use the device Justicar gives you to thaw each
passenger. To do so, target the block of ice and then activate the
device on your hotbar. Once all 5 passengers have been rescued, return
to Justicar at Steelhead for your reward.

[8] Subzero
Servant

CONTACT:
Justicar

QUEST
TYPE
: Triggered Boss Fight

OBJECTIVES:
Use magical necklace to summon Tulzorgat around the ice
spires near the Oceanica wreckage

DETAILS:
Ravenspeaker believes that a powerful ice demon named
Tulzorgat is responsible for the appearance of the ice demons in the
area surrounding Steelhead and the downed Oceanica plane, and
it’s up to you to put a stop to him. Tulzorgat can be
summoned at the ice spires east of Steelhead, but be careful; numerous
ice shamans encircle the spires and can make this fight somewhat
difficult if you get too close. Once you’ve defeated the
demon, loot his key to open the small chest nearby, grab the scroll it
contains and then speak with Ravenspeaker for your reward.

style="font-weight: bold;">Rakshasa’s Realm
style="font-weight: bold;">

This
scroll contains orders from Dr. Destroyer to his
servant Rakshasa, commanding him to go into a dimension known as the
Forest Tomb and awaken the sleeping demon-god Kigatilik. The scroll
also contains a spell to access a portal into the Forest Tomb.

style="font-style: italic;">

I
must remain here and use my powers to keep the storm at bay, so it
falls to you to go into this Portal into the Forest Tomb dimension and
attempt to stop Rakshasa from waking Kigatilik. At the very least,
defeat Destroyer’s treacherous servant Rakshasa.

- Ravenspeaker

Apparently Black Talon wasn’t the only Master Villain
enacting plans as dictated by the one and only Doctor Destroyer.
Kigatilik is a force to be reckoned with, and it’s up to you
to see to it that he’s not summoned by Rakshasa or who knows
what terrible fate he could unleash on Canada or the rest of the world?

[8] Eye
of the Storm

style="font-weight: bold;">

CONTACT:
Ravenspeaker (Astral Projection inside the Forest Tomb)

QUEST
TYPE
: Kill Count

OBJECTIVES:
Defeat Ice Shamans (3) and Zombies (6)

DETAILS:
As soon as you enter the portal leading to the Forest Tomb,
Ravenspeaker reminds you of the Coldshield device you crafted earlier,
as you’ll need it to battle Rakshasa. He also notes that
you’ll want to defeat the ice shamans and zombies in the area
before hand; otherwise they’ll attempt to protect Rakshasa
which makes an already challenging battle even more difficult.
Thankfully, you can take on these lesser villains before your final
confrontation, instantly gaining credit for quest completion as the
last of the falls for a nice boost in XP and Resources.

style="margin: 2px; width: 210px; float: right;">

href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/72356" target="_blank"> style="width: 200px; float: right;" alt="Rakshasa"
src="/image/view/72356">

[8] Into
the Storm

CONTACT:
Ravenspeaker

QUEST
TYPE
: Master Villain
Confrontation

OBJECTIVES:
Defeat Rakshasa

DESCRIPTION:
Once you’ve taken care of the ice shamans and
zombies in the area, it’s time to move on to your primary
target, Rakshasa. As you approach, a brief cutscene will play showing
that unfortunately you’re too late to stop Kigatilik from
being summoned. If you haven’t already done so, now is the
time to activate your Coldshield device, as moving closer to Rakshasa
causes some major cold damage over time.

Rakshasa primarily uses Telekinesis in combat, but be sure to watch out
for his charged attacks or else you might end up a giant puddle in the
snow. Going in solo the fight will be difficult but definitely
manageable, though expect a much stiffer challenge should you enter as
a group.

Once Rakshasa has been defeated, head back through the portal and look
for Justicar back at Steelhead to complete the mission arc and claim
your reward.
