10 - Where To Hunt

Be sure to check out our Tiered Leveling Guide for more advice on where to hunt with your templar!

10.0 - Where to Hunt

Level - 10-19

Antonica seems to be the hunting ground of choice. Solo and Group
mobs are abundant. Do yourself a favour and explore the zone. Taking a
ride on the Griffins is a good way to clear the fog from the map.

  • Solo 12-14: Good xp for soloing deer, badgers, and bears near the
    Claymore Monument. [Thanks Candeesay
    of Permafrost!
    ]
  • Solo 15-20: Mobs near the Oracle (Griffon) Station. It's easy to
    gain gathering skill as you roam around harvesting nodes and killing
    bird- and snake-type creatures. Steer clear of lizards, however, these
    seem to resist divine damage (smite). [Thanks
    Candeesay of Permafrost!
    ]
  • Grouped 10-14: Hunt Gnolls in Antonica near the Claymore at
    levels 10-14. Down below has a ton of collection type quests too.
  • Solo 15-18: Antonican stags in Archers' Wood just behind the
    Claymore Monument for good xp and loot, including adept spells. Be
    careful of the gnolls at night though! [ style="font-style: italic;">Thanks Chosenownsu of the Crushbone server!] class="532144017-23122004">
  • Grouped 14-18: Vermin’s Snye has pretty good xp and loot.
  • Grouped 14-19: Hunt Gnolls in BlackBurrow. This zone can be found
    near the Steppes Griffin Landing Pad. The experience and loot is
    excellent for the level. It is also a good idea to learn this zone as
    you will need to venture here for your level 20 quest armour.
  • Grouped 14-19: StormHold (Near the Steppes Griffin Tower in
    Antonica) is excellent experience and loot.
  • Solo 16-18: The Undead off the path from the Antonica zoneline
    near the Steppes station

In Greater Faydark, pretty much everything you need is in this zone. Try to quests in Kelethin or at the outpost. If you feel like grinding, the orcs crawling all over the zone and particularly near Crushbone Keep are a great choice.

Level - 20-29

Thunderous Steppes is good for groups. The solo hawks have a rare
drop chest piece that has excellent AC. Groups can hunt anywhere from
the zone in to the far reaches of the zone. The mobs are plentiful and
many are not aggressive. The Undead and Scarecrows near the Antonica
zoneline frequently drop chests with excellent loot. Soloers can get
quests from the trapper near the Antonica zoneline and a NPC at the
docks that pay you 2s per quest. You are killing the mobs anyway. You
might as well get the cash.

  • Grouped 16-20: The Scarecrows off the path from the Steppes
    station offers excellent safe experience.
  • Grouped 16-24: The gnolls found in the craters near the Antonica
    zone-in in the Thundering Steppes.
  • Grouped 16-25: The centaurs found all over the zone. These are
    not initially aggressive which is nice. They are faction based so after
    a few kills their status will change to aggressive making travel much
    harder. [Thanks Kaleb of the Unrest
    Server
    !]
  • Solo 19-23: The beetles found off the path to the docks and the
    bridge
  • Solo 19-24: The hawks found off the path to the docks and the
    bridge.
  • Solo 19-23: The snakes found off the path to the docks and the
    bridge.
  • Solo 19-24: The antelopes found off the path to the docks and the
    bridge.
  • Group 24-28: Ruins of Varsoon (entrance in TS) yields great xp
    and loot, including a variety of tier 4 jewelry. [ style="font-style: italic;">Thanks Baptizmas of the Blackburrow server!]
  • Solo 24-26: Skellies in front of the Varsoon entrance in
    Thundering Steppes, which are both solo mobs and plentiful. The
    "apprentices of varsoon" at the entrance are especially nice exp and
    loot. [Thanks Jayce of the Storms
    server!
    ]
  • Group 21-26: Giants in TS, these drop awesome loot (including
    armor and Hill Giant Idols, which sell for surprising amounts to other
    players) and are great experience. There are rumors of a "Goliath"
    quest that can net you 10-12% experience at lvl 22. [Thanks
    Requiiem of the Neriak server!
    ]

For those who started in Kelethin, at this point you'll want to head to the Butcherblock Mountains. Be sure to do the griffon quest right away so travel in this zone is a little less time consuming. You'll find quests to do on the docks and at Irontoes.

Level 30-39

  • Solo 28-31: The first mobs
    in Zek con level 30 solo (yellow). If fought well, these are nice, safe
    xp. Moreover there's a quest starting at Zeck docks (entrance) asking
    to hunt 10 of those mobs for nice cash (31 silver) and a "find the
    different locations" tome quest that cons red at lvl 28. [ style="font-style: italic;">Thanks Jayce of the Storms server!]
  • Solo 30-35: Ruins of Varsoon is great- rats and dogs at entrance
    are soloable. It's easy to find a group here as a healer. [Thanks
    Kuldor of the Unrest Server
    ]
  • Solo 35+: Visit Feerrott! Solo mobs on the beach where you
    zone-in are safe with good loot. [Thanks Kuldor of the Unrest Server]
  • Group 30-35: Nektulos Castle is great exp, offers great quests
    and quest updates, and LOTS of Templar adepts seem to drop there for
    some reason. [Thanks Wootwooten of
    Lavastorm!
    ]
  • Group 30-35: Camp Nightblood Scourges in northeast Enchanted
    Lands for some awesome +WIS heavy armor and weaponry, like a +18 WIS 2H
    hammer (see href="http://eq2.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=20&meid=56">Chapter
    5 - Weapons and href="http://eq2.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=21&meid=56">Chapter
    6 - Armor). href="http://eq2.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=21&meid=56">

  • Group 32+: Runnyeye Citadel, while difficult to get to (mucho
    aggro in the way), is a great place to earn exp fast. With the right
    group you just might level in less than a few hours!
  • Solo / Group 34+: Rivervale offers solo opportunities near the
    gate and great quests and opportunities for groups farther in. That,
    and it's much easier to get to than RE.
  • Group 35+: Check out Everfrost. Experience here is great. [Thanks
    Kuldor of the Unrest Server
    ]

Levels 40-50

For grouping, Cazic-Thule,  Runnyeye Citidel, and Permafrost cannot be beat.  For solo'ing, I just loved the Feerott and Everfrost.  I spent a lot of time doing repeatable quests and killing along the paths in Feerott. And wandering around Everfrost killing bears, giants, and Valkyries.

Levels 50-60

To be able to progress past level 50, you will need the Desert of Flames expansion.  You can actually make use of the zones within this expansion in the mid to late 40's.  Along the beach of the Sinking Sands, there are crocs and pirates that are easily solo'able.  For grouping, the Clefts of Rujark is a very nice spot.  The lower level of the Clefts actually make for nice solo'ing, the upper levels are very much geared for groups.  The difficulty rises with each level upwards.  Taking a grouping through there with the ultimate goal of reaching and clearing Scornfeather's Roost (located on the top level of the Clefts) is an amazing way to make experience.

You'd also want to take a peek at what's inside the Pillar of Flames.  Harpies galore to solo for nice loot, experience, and faction.  Cyclops to slay with a group.  Truly, there is too much in this expansion to list.  But I assure you, that there is something for everyone.

Levels 60-70

Again, another level range that can only be reached through the addition of an expansion.  Kingdom of Sky raises the level cap to 70, and adds a plethora of new zones.  For the upper 50's and low 60's, solo'ing content is plentiful in the Tenebrous Tangle zone of islands.  For grouping, you'll want to check out the Sanctum of the Scaleborn.

Through the mid levels, the Barren Sky or Bonemire are where you want to be, with nice grouping zones being the Palace of the Awakened and the Nest of the Great Egg.

Levels 70-80

In order to make it this far, you must have the Rise of Kunark expansion! Once you get there, you'll quickly find that the zones are massive and finding a good hunting spot can be an ominous task. The devs have put in an amazing amount of quests in the newer zones so I strongly suggest taking advantage of them! In your late 60s and early 70s, you'll want to spend your time around the Kylong Plains dock and in Teren's Grasp. Mid 70s, venture into The Fens of Nathsar and Kunzar Jungle and find quests around the many outposts. Nearing 80, you'll want to visit Jarsath Wastes and check out the docks and camps.

Where did you hunt? Let me know so I can add it and credit you! [email protected] This is a work in progress; I’m committed to making it the most
complete resource on how to be the best Templar possible. To do it, I
need your help! Together we can help to heal this scarred land!
