The heroes of Diablo are used to cutting their way through hordes of demons and monsters with ease, but what happens when the enemy is just as strong as you. Heroes of the Storm looks to answer that question by bringing in many of the playable classes of Diablo 3 as well as a few of the more prominent members of it's lore. Here are the Diablo characters you can get your hands on in Heroes of the Storm.

Azmodan - You wouldn't thinks someone with the name "Lord of Sin" would hake it into a game as a Hero, but Azmodan has made the cut nonetheless. The keeper of hell now brings his fiery powers to the battlefields of the storm in hopes of transforming it into his own vision of hell.

Azmodan is a specialist hero, meaning that instead of focusing specifically on damage or defence he has a bit of both. His real strength lies in his utility abilities which can summon demons to fight on his behalf, or use his magical powers to increase the fighting strength of his allies.

Tyrael - The stalwart defender of humanity and justice itself, Tyrael fights to put demons back where they belong and keep the world safe for mortals. In his most recent adventures in Diablo, Tyrael helps the player fight back against the newly released Diablo and eventually reclaim heaven for the angels.

A warrior class, Tyrael has a lot of survivability in the form of health and protective spells. Primarily a melee damage dealer, Tyrael has a good selection of "gap closers" to choose from as well as some handy utility abilities that shield his allies from damage.

Diablo - The lord of Terror himself has seen fit to enter the storm in order to subjugate heroes from other universes as well. This comes as some relief to the citizens of Sanctuary whom he has been trying to destroy for many years now.

Like Tyrael, Diablo is a member of the warrior class and boasts high survivability and a wide variety of melee range spells.  Diablo specializes at charging into the middle of the battle and reeking havoc. Oh, and he can also collect the souls of his fallen enemies which increase his health and can be used for a fast resurrection.

Barbarian - While used as a player class in Diablo, the Barbarian in HoTS is named Sonya. We don't know much more about her right now other than her home in the north was destroyed and now she wanders Sanctuary looking to crack skulls and find a new place to settle down.

The barbarian is of course a warrior class, only instead of focusing on defence, she focuses on damage heavy melee abilities. Other spells such as Ancient Spear and leap are great for closing the gap between the Sonya and the target so she can unleash her devastating melee pain.

Demon Hunter - Valla is the name of the Demon Hunter. Her family and village were destroyed by demons so she has committed herself to the cause of eradicating every single one that comes into range of her crossbows.

Valla specializes in dealing ranged damage with her dual crossbows. Her rapid fire attacks are made all the more deadly by her abilities which can rain down AoE death, or focus in on a single target for the real damage. Landing hits with her attacks builds up hatred, which buffs both her movement speed and base attack damage.

Witch Doctor - The Witch Doctor Nazeebo seems to be the only player character from Diablo that didn't have their village wiped out. The good doctor focuses on strange spells and abilities that summon spirits to aid him in the heat of battle.

As mentioned before the Witch Doctor specializes in summon spirits, well in fact pretty much all of his abilities summon some sort of creature to do the fighting for him. Whether it's a trio of deadly spiders or a ring of zombies backed by a toad plague, this guy has a critter for every situation.
