style="font-weight: bold;"> 4.0 - Armor Quests

style="font-weight: bold;">

(the following appears
courtesy of Kebia and Boomjack's Paladin Guide - with whom we share an
affinity for heavy armor)

class="pn-content-page-body">

Quest #1 - Ian's
Forgetful Family - Part I

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
armour. From the Qeynos harbor docks, head through the upper gates and
hang a right, Ian is next to a large building behind the merchants'
    tents.
  • You
need to kill 20 Caltorsis Knights, which are found in the Windstalker
area of Antonica. These were green to a 20th level Guardian. These can
also be found near Fangbreaker Keep, located to the east above
Windstalker Vilage [Thanks Dylara if Qeynos]
  • You need to kill 4 Sabertooth Tormentors. There is
    a trick here as
these don't spawn until you have cleared an entire camp of gnolls. The
two camps outside of BlackBurrow have both proven to spawn these, as do
the two camps near the bridge by the Oracle Tower Griff Landing Pad.
Respawn time on the gnolls is approximately 10 minutes.
  • These are wearable at level 20.

Reward:

Hearth Forged Gauntlets

+2 agi, +5 wis, +11 Heatlh, +13 Power, +84 vs disease, +67 vs heat

Slot: Hands

Quest #2 - Ian's
Forgetful Family - Part II
[ Thanks Kaleb
of Unrest for the quest name ]

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
    armour.
  • Kill Grolven Chiptooth, the named gnoll that
    wanders around outside Blackburrow.
  • Kill 25 Giant Kodiaks. These can be found north of
Fangbreaker Keep and East of the Windstalker area [Thanks Dylara
    of Qeynos]
    .
  • Kill 4 Blightfang Broodtenders in Blackburrow.
  • These are wearable at level 20

Reward:

Hearth Forged Bracers

+5 int, +2 str, +13 Heatlh, +12 Power, +67 vs divine, +84 vs poison

Slot: Forearms

Quest #3 - Ian's Forgetful Family - Part
III
[ Thanks Kaleb of Unrest for
the quest name ]

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
    armour.
  • Kill 12 Defiled Crusaders. These are found in
Stormhold which is located very near the Steppes Griffin Landing Pad.
  • Kill 12 Defiled Knights. These are also found in
    Stormhold.
  • Kill 5 Defiled Cavaliers. These are also found in
    Stormhold
  • These are wearable at level 21.

Reward:

Hearth Forged Boots

+3 sta, +5 agi, +11 Heatlh, +16 Power, +84 vs magic, +67 vs mental

Slot: Feet

Quest #4 - Ian's Forgetful Family - Part IV
[ Thanks Kaleb of Unrest for the quest name ]

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
    armour.
  • The
mobs you need are located in the Crypt of Betrayal, which is accessed
from the Bloodsabre area of Vermin Snye. You need to kill "several"
(that's actually how the quest puts it) bats (I'm pretty sure the
number is actually 10), 15 restless corpses, and 25 death beetles. All
spawn right near the zone-in. [ Thanks to Reisen of Lucan D'lere ]
  • These are wearable at level 22.

Reward:

Hearth Forged Spaulders

+2 sta, +6 wis, +13 Heatlh, +16 Power, +84 vs cold, +67 vs heat

Slot: Shoulders

Quest #5 - Ian's Forgetful Family - Part V
[ Thanks Kaleb of Unrest for
the quest name ]

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
    armour.
  • Quest information provided by Kaleb of
    Unrest.
If you can fill in the missing information please href="mailto:[email protected]">let me know.
  • Head to Thundering Steppes.
  • Kill 10 corpse feeders (located in the dry river bed)
  • Kill 12 sabertooth looters [ Thanks Reisen of Lucan
    D'lere ]
, in crater at Qeynos Tower 1 near Antonica zone in)
  • Kill 5 [ Thanks Reisen of Lucan D'lere ] unearthed
settlers (these can be found by the docks on other side of hill)
  • Additional info.
[Thanks to Kelvin of Toxx ] ** For the bonesplitter quest requirement,
you have to kill undead until one of the undead RANDOMLY triggers the
bonesplitter quest requirement. You may get the bonesplitter on the
first unearthly settler you kill or it may be the 482nd. Generally,
everybody has gotten it from killing settlers because they are the
easiest undead to kill. My guild was frustrated because we killed about
150 settlers before we got credit. I've heard of other folks who got
credit in the first 5 they killed. **
  • You need to be 23 to equp this item.

Reward:

Slot: Legs

Hearth Forged Greaves [Thanks Kaleb of Unrest]

+5 int, +4 str, +13 health, +17 power, +101 cold, +67 poison

Quest
#6 - Ian's Forgetful Family - Part VI
class="style8">[ Thanks Kaleb of Unrest for the quest name ]

  • Talk to Ian Cathlan for your Guardian quest
    armour.
  • Quest information provided by Kaleb of
    Unrest.
If you can fill in the missing information please href="mailto:[email protected]">let me know.
  • Head to Thundering Steppes.
  • Kill 10 skeletal troopers (these are out near the burned out
forest close to Qeynos tower 4)
  • Kill
15 centaur hunters (these spawn every 10 minutes at Qeynos tower 4 in a
group, you get one or two hunters in the group) they also roam behind
the tower but are much more rare and all the centaurs are placeholders.
  • Kill
the named giant Ott Stompgutt (I don't have the exact location but it's
fairly close to Qeynos Tower 4, there is a valley leading towards a
bridge that is filled with giants. 3 giants spawn at the entrance of
the valley so clear those first. When you walk into the valley and get
near the rock Ott automatically spawns along with two bear guards. He
was yellow at 22 (I think he's 24 with two up arrows). Make sure you
have a good group with two healers, he was fairly tough. NOTE: Adding
people from a second group to form a raid makes the encounter trivial
and it doesn't count. Has to be done with one group only.
  • You need to be level 24 to equip this item.

Reward:

Slot: Chest

Hearth Forged Breastplate [Thanks Kaleb of Unrest]

+4 agi, +5 str, +18 health, +14 power, +84 disease, +84 magic
