Overview

Many, many years ago, Kaladim was the great fortress city of the dwarves. Wars and the Cataclysm took their toll on this city, and it fell to the malicious beings that occupy it's mountainside walls to this day. There was no hope for the dwarves that still dwelled within, and even Brell could not save them, and you can still feel the forsaken dwarves presence when you step within Kaladim.

Kaladim is a good size dungeon zone contained within the Echoes of Faydwer expansion. You will need to have purchased and downloaded EoF to have access.

Minimum Level

As with most dungeons zones in EverQuest II, Kaladim is geared towards groups from about the upper 50s to the upper 60s. Lower level groups will want to stay up front, and higher level groups should feel free to wonder to the ends of the zone. I advise watching for adds because mob groups are packed pretty tightly in here, and the odds are high of pulling multiple heroic targets.

It has been said that upper level groups can make their way through this zone rather fast, so I believe the best level to utilize this zone and have it still be a reasonable challenge is in your lower to mid-60s.

Connecting Zones

Kaladim can be reached only from the northern end of the Butcherblock Mountains.

Quests

The only quests that I could find that actually starts inside Kaladim was the Bugbear Lore & Legend quest and The Stormhammer signature quest.

The Stormhammer starts with examining a chest in Stormhammer Keep (loc -101, 46, -81). This will spawn the Hammer of Below book in a random spot within the room with the waterfall. The book starts the signature quest and a collection quest. You need to complete the collection quest to continue with the Stormhammer quest.

The pages are found as spawns around Kaladim. You'll find the first in the room in which you start this quest, then the others in the mine and in The Hall of the Hammer. Once you have completed the collection, turn it in to whatever collection person you use. You may now start the signature quest, The Stormhammer.

(Note- Full guide on this signature quest incoming! Check back VERY soon for the update!)

Some quests that involve Kaladim are the Brell Serillis deity quest, the Cloak of Flames, and the Ivy Shrouded Orb of Tunare.

If you happen to stumble across any quests that originate from Kaladim, please let me know!

Soloing Opportunities

Kaladim is not a zone for soloing. If you are determined to get a taste of this zone on your own though, there is the option of sticking close to the door. The front area, Kaladim Hall, is littered with solo level 60 single arrow up kobolds. This is also a good spot for the solo adventurer to harvest collection items if you see 'em!

Beyond the towers in Kaladim Hall is near all heroic content, so it is not advised that solo players wonder past here unless you are capable of taking down heroics.

Grouping Opportunities

Grouping is the main focus of Kaladim, and there is plenty to do here with a few pals. There really isn't a bad place in this zone to group, so my suggestion is to start up front and work your way to the back. You'll not want to miss the ring events, one small one being in the Ogrebane Arena, the larger one would be the avatar ring event in the Cathedral. The loot isn't that great in here, so I'd venture in more for the large scale quests and the experience.

I hope you enjoyed the Ten Ton Hammer walk through of Kaladim! Enjoy your time there. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me.
