What does it mean to be a Defiler?  Ewww get your mind out of the gutter.   Healers come in different flavors, and a Defiler is kind of like Oregano, it goes with almost everything.  This class can be seen soloing in the Commonlands, all the way to raids in the Emerald Halls

A Defiler is a healer, with a unique set of debuffs, damage wards, and DoT (damage over time) spells. They provide amazing support in a group, and are just as useful in a raid.

What isn't a Defiler? A Defiler is not a DPS machine that can solo any and everything they want. If you are looking for an easy solo class, there are better choices you can make. That isn't to say a Defiler can't solo, but it's not what they were designed to do. A Defiler is a proactive healer not a reactive healer. What do I mean? A reactive healer, uses their abilities based on what is happening to the group. A good example would be a Templar. A proactive healer has spells designed which are used frequently and offensively.

This guide is meant to provide a little starting help for the new Defiler or just give some reference to the seasoned player (we all have alts).   It is by no means an "end all" so we welcome any and all feedback you can provide us regarding this class.

Included in this guide s a list of the Spells a Defiler receives and Master 2 choices. Also, we have a list of the Achievement Points the Shaman classes (Defiler/Mystic) receive and what each one does. .

Please feel free to email me regarding any changes or additions you think should be made.  You'll get full credit for them!
