Overview
Ah, the Feerott. Home of the lizardmen and the Temple of Cazic Thule. Ancestral home of the Frogloks too, however they've suffered cruelly under the oppression of the various lizard tribes and have taken refuge deep in the jungle. The blind lizardmen; for if you look closely they've removed their eyes (presumably in worship of their dark deities, however their magic makes them just as sensate and aware as any wary adventurer), now dominate the jungle environs, though forces of greater terror also inhabit the deep recesses of the zone.
Minimum level:
While you can complete the Feerott access quest at level 32, you're wise to stick to the more spacious zones like Zek and Enchanted Lands without a strong group, at least until your later 30s. At about 37, you should start to find Feerott a very rewarding place to play.
That said, don't let the Feerott intimidate you! There's a variety of fun, easy-to-complete quests here, great soloing and grouping opportunities, several great heritage quests to complete (the Stein of Moggok, Screaming Mace, and Flowing Black Silk Sash, for three), and you can use the obstacle-rife jungle layout to your advantage when outrunning a too-tough mob. In my opinion, you stand a much better chance of surviving aggro here than in a comparable area like east Rivervale.
NOTE: if you plan to play Feerott and Cazic Thule much, choose the Lizardman variant of your level 37 creature mastery spell. Lizardman, incidently, will last you the longest; I chose Nightblood and regret my choice greatly at level 43.
Zones Inside the Feerott:
- The Trembling Lagoon: (-902, +312; directly north of the Tower of Vul in a tunnel) 37+ area, but includes a number of epic mobs. 45+ will be bored here. Complete the Tarin / Mashara set of Feer progressive quests to gain access.
- The Obelisk of Lost Souls: -960, +500 near the Tower of Vul, individual access required via "The Mark of the Adumbrate" quest (see below). A 37-50 zone good for groups. Pick up "The Soul of Tarinax" (or "Hearts of Ice" if you've completed "Soul") quest from General Fandrak before heading in. Once inside, examine the skeleton to begin the "Entrance into the Obelisk quest in order to procede if you haven't already done so.
- The Temple of Cazic Thule: (-1700, +820 in extreme west Feer, heavy aggro surrounding it). Great (if frightening!) 40+ group zone, maximize your time here by killing Agony (spawns around the lake just outside in Feer) to start the "Screaming Mace" quest.
Quest Starters:
-
Collection quests:
- Feerott Fern Leaves Collection: Those little "?'s" can earn you a 30-slot bag! Just collect 7 different types of fern in your travels and its yours!
-
Normal quests:
- Anrev Kaelyna (on beach near docks) starts the "Social Structure" quest which asks you to kill 4 different types of Huuptics. Nice quest to do while soloing.
- Reza (wanders around near docks, hug the right hand wall and work your way around) - a 3-spot series of quests designed for low-level soloers! All mobs for each of the three quests are easily found near the docks, and the third quest is repeatable for over 1g!
- KaI Vhri'Jah (-76, +214; follow east zonewall around from docks) hail him at 37 to begin "The Mark of the Adumbrate" quest for access to "The Obelisk of Lost Souls" instance from the Feerott side (-961, +502, near the Tower of Vul midmap). Worthwhile quest for a group of high 30s / low 40s to undertake.

Feerott Progressive Quests
- Grimble Blumble (good) or Krozk Bonebraka (evil) - opens a series of 4 or 5 quests resulting in the choice of a nice STA/STR or WIS/INT wrist piece. Great for a ~37 group just starting out in Feerott with a few hours to kill.
- Tarin Varinblade (good) (+85, +55, south of docks) or Mashara Tiogran (evil) (-125, +5, east-southeast from docks along zonewall) - The Feerott progressive quests, choose your NPC by whether you're from Freeport or Qeynos. A set of 5 quests (3 of which are possibly soloable at 39) involving mobs and locations in Feerott. Reward for the first 3 quests is just a little coin, but it's a nice way to familiarize yourself with Feerott. The second quest in the series ("Strategic Points") involves many of the same locations you'll need to find to run the Feerott portion of "The Journey is Half the Fun", without the stress of the timer! "The Cleansing of the Cove" (the 4th quest) gives you access to "The Trembling Lagoon" (-900, +300, east from dock along zone wall quite a ways). Note that the creature catalogue quests simply involve targetting the mob and using the "Catalogue Character" skill bought from Sage Indis Sutton in the Qeynos Mage Tower (I'm not sure who the NPC is for Freeport players, but you need only go to their mage tower and ask around for the appropriate NPC).
- Vashazdar (good) or Cvaka Zichovani (evil) - The third (?) set in the sequence of Feer progressive quests. Complete this one for a nice earring for mages and priests (+STA, +WIS, +INT, with health and power).
- Gretchen (good) (+85, +55, south of docks) or Malkin X'Davai (evil) - The fourth and final set in Feer progressive series. Begin this set of 6 quests after completing the Tarin / Mashara sequence. resulting in a Tae Ew Mystic headpiece (equippable at 40 with differing stat buffs depending on your choice). Good for a lower 40s group, and can be finished off in a few hours if you know the zone well.
Heritage Quests Involving Feerott
- "The Stein of Moggok: It Can Be Rebuilt" - starts in East Freeport (yes, Qeynos-types can, with a little skill and luck, begin and complete the quest). See the TTH writeup here. Reward is a nice +INT, +AGI, +Power symbol.
- "The Screaming Mace" - Writeup here. Amazing 1H weapon for any priest or off-tank.
- "The Teachings of Yoru" - Though it starts in Antonica, the real action begins and ends in Feerott. See our writeup here.
- "The Journey is Half the Fun" - Basically a big circle around Feer, starting with Chon Ar'deli at -120, -75. This leg is 7/7, and the well-deserved reward is a pair of Legendary Journeyman's Boots.
Soloing Opportunities:
If you're 35-37:
- Huuptics (near the docks), brush constrictors (just inside the jungle from the docks), and Marsh Damselflies (hang a right in jungle from docks) should present a moderate challenge, but have great drop rates for adepts / equipment (especially the Huuptics). Be sure that the mob/mobs aren't "Heroic" con before you attack!
- There's also a quest called "Huuuuptic!" attained from a stone around the Fear camp (dead center of the Feerott maps, don't go without a group at this level) to kill 50 Huuptics for several gold. Not bad if you're going to be killing Huuptics anyway.
- Stay near to the docks in case you need to make a break for it... remember, surrendering .2% of experience to escape 2% of debt is never cowardice!
If you're 36-39:
- Work your way south to fight Jungle Leapers, Pungent Recluse, and solo Evol Ew tribesme... er... tribeslizards.
- Fighting Carrion dregs, Underbrush fiends, and tougher Marsh Damselflies might favor you as well... set a lazy east-south-east course from the Evol Ew camps.
If you're 40-44:
- Head to the "Gulch of Thule" area in southwest Feer (through the tunnel). You should find plenty of mobs to occupy your time here, including a few that count toward the 40-44 mage writs.
Grouping Opportunities
Around level 37:
- Fight your way to the Evol Ew camp just south of the docks. Examine every campfire you see until you grab the "Fiery Visions" quest to kill 200 lizardmen (not that great of a reward, but you'll complete this easily in a little more than an hour, earning around 25% in the meantime), and start pummeling the Evol Ew. With any luck you'll get "A Tattered Robe" as a chest drop to start "A Stitch in Time" quest for the Robe of the Invoker (great for casters: vLight armor, +10 INT, +36 power, mana regeneration effect).
40+ :
- The rest of the zone is yours! Take on the Feerott progressive quests or gain Ferrott access to the Obelisk of Lost Souls (see above) to maximize your time spent here.
