Overview

Lesser Faydark is a mythical and magical place which has given home to the Fae for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The dangerous lands are now less occupied by the fae, and more by a few of the other more amazing creatures of Norrath such as the drake, the unicorn, and the brownies.

Lesser Faydark is a outdoor zone included in the Echoes of Faydwer expansion. It's one of the most graphically beautiful zones in EverQuest II. Along with it's beauty, it came with the neat transportation option of stabled horses. These work much like the griffons do that are already used in other zones, but give a nice, new flavor to quick and easy transport around the large zone.

Lesser Faydark is one of my new favorite zones from this expansion, and is definitely worth checking out.

Minimum Level

Being an open zone, Lesser Faydark has a nice mix of solo and heroic mobs ranging in levels from the mid 50s to about 60, making this an ideal zone to play in, in your 50s.

Connecting Zones

Quests

The Ivy Shrouded Orb of Tunare - A level 60-70 signature quest. Find the full quest series guide here.

Brownie Lore & Legend - This L&L can be found and completed within Lesser Faydark. Find the info on this, and other Lore and Legend quests here.

Wu's Edict of Existence (level 50) - Master Kyau, found in the Wu encampment, gives a series of quests, this one being the first. You need to find the mat to sit and contemplate what it means to exist. The mat (loc 726, 88, -294) is found down the slope on the ledge next to one of Wu's followers. Return to Kyau and told him what you have learned. Reward: 9g and Wu faction.

Wu's Edict of Morality (level 60) - After completing the previous quest, Master Kyau gives you this one. You are asked to gather twisted nightshade from the Shadowed Grove. I found the groups of nightshade (loc 608, -24, 419) just to the east of the Tower of Zet. Return to Kyau for reward. Reward: 13g, Wu faction, healing salve and a poison.

Wu's Edict of Material (level 55) - After completing the previous quests, Master Kyau gives you this one. Take a bag of coins to the greedy bandit (loc 22, -26, 238) on the path near the Nybright camp near the Loping Plains zone. He'll take the coins, then get a little peeved and attack you. The bandit is a level 55 solo mob. Kill him then return to Kyau. Reward: 9g, Wu faction, and a book for your home to document your learnings.

First Ones In, Last Ones Out (level 55) - Peetriini, found in the Aphotic Intersection, asks you to find the body of Fulassi Suulo in the Shadowed Grove. The body (loc 717, -32, 485) is found just east of the Tower of Zet, right behind a rock. Examine the body then return to Peetrinni. Reward: 15g.

Poking at the Paranormal (level 60) - Annelo Jukko, found in the Aphotic Intersection, needs for you to gather some ghost essences for a friend of his. These will drop from the war-torn apparitions (loc 366, -31, +500) in the Shadowed Grove which spawn just outside of the opening into the Shadowed Grove from the Intersection. Return to Annelo when you have collected all 5. Reward: 13g.

For Whom The Doll Tolls (level 60 heroic*) - Pinjya Viivi of the Aphotic Intersection sends you to find a lucky doll that she lost in the Shadowed Grove. The dirty doll can be found on the ground somewhere near the Tower of Zet. It spawns in a couple of random locations, but both times it spawned, it was west of the tower near the wall. Return it to Pinjya. Reward: 16g. *note: The only thing that makes this quest heroic is the mobs that surround the area where the doll is found. I just avoided them, or ran them off, and got through just fine!

Meeting the Family (level 50) - Kurina Nybright from the Nybright Camp near the zone to the Loping Plains asks you to take a solvent to Snyd Brenclog (-1206, 85, 1204) in the Steamfont Mountains on the eastern side of Dragonscale Hills. He'll be up on the ledge in a small house. Return to Kurina! Reward: 9g and Nybright faction.

Seeking an Ancient Clue (level 53) - After completing the previous quest, this one opens up from Kurina. Search the Wu camp for something that Sharina has been looking for. When you get to Wu's camp, speak with Hanhao, and he'll tell you about some weapon that Wu had hidden. Return this information back to Kurina. Reward: 9g and Nybright faction.

Catching up with the Thexians (level 55) - After completing the previous two quests, Kurina sends you to Sharina who previously would not speak to you. Sharina wishes for you to get a ledger that is in the possession of the Thexians in Lesser Faydark. The forward post is just up the path to the north, and the ledger is inside the tent. Return to Sharina once you have the ledger. Reward: 9g and Nybright faction.

Joining the Family (level 57) - More assignments from the Nybright family! Sharina now wants you to snag a note being passed between the Thexians. You can find the Thexian that has the paper in the Thexian camp in the southeast corner of the zone, past the Greater Faydark zone in. You are looking for the Thexian strategist who spawns within the camp near the High Dragoon N'Mar. Kill him and receive the log book. Return to Sharina. Reward: 12g, Nybright faction, and Nybright family signet (ring).

Checking In (level 60 heroic) - To continue the series of quests for the Nybright faction, Sharina wants you to track down a spy that hasn't checked in. This spy can be found at the Wu camp. The mob you are looking for is Lynn Q'Tentu, hail her and respond with "Friendship is an opportunity for manipulation" to continue speaking with her. **update: recently it seems that just killing a "follower of Wu" in the camp gives this update. We were unable to find Lynn after much searching, so we assume she's off doing better things. ** After the dialog, she'll attack you and she is a level 60 ^^^ heroic. Lynn will give you a strange looking rune when you kill her, return this to Sharina. Reward: 18g and Nybright faction.

Lock and Key (level 60) - Sharina sends you back to the Wu camp to find a way to open the portal with the rune. The portal is found in the arena area in the camp. Once you have found the portal, and you interact with it, it will disappear and elementals will appear around the arena. They will all be non-aggro, but one will be attackable at a time. Each elemental is a level 60 ^^^ heroic. Once all are killed, a named will spawn who is also a level 60 ^^^ heroic, but a bit meaner than the elementals. Kill him and then return to Sharina. Reward: 16g+, Nybright title, Nybright faction, and your choice of wrist item, clothe robe, or secondary totem item.

Soloing Opportunities

The best soloing will always be questing. It's simply the quickest and easiest way to make experience and achievement points when you are on your own. A good portion of the quests listed above can be easily soloed, so be sure to do them!

Because I'm the sort of girl that likes to kill two birds with one stone, I'd suggest that the soloer grab the brownie Lore and Legend quest early on. If you head out to the brownie camp on the northeastern end of the zone, you can kill solo level 50ish brownies while you look for L&L items.

You can also make your way to any of the other camps, such as the Thexians, Nybright, or Fugutr camps and find solo mobs.

Because Lesser Faydark is an open zone, you will find plenty of solo mobs scattered through out the zone! Hop a horse and explore!

Grouping Opportunities

The best spot for groups is down by the Tower of Zet in the Shadowed Grove. There is a whole area dedicated to heroic mobs that a good group could just slaughter as they pop. If you are feeling particularly brave, or have a level 60s group, make your way into the Obelisk of Blight to find some serious challenge!

Another good spot is up near the Wu camp where the heroic fae drakes spawn. The fae drakes are all about level 60 ^^^ and nicely challenging for mid 50s groups. If you aren't concerned with faction, you could also storm the Wu camp as well and do some damage to those high and mighty monks.
