To go beyond level 50, you will need the expansion "Desert of Flames". This expansion allows you to adventure through new lands, and level to 60! You get a change of scenery, a new player city of Maj'dul, and say hello to the very cool flying carpets!
This expansion can be utilized before level 50, Sinking Sands has quests and mobs suitable for characters in their mid to late 40s.
Please also note, that if you do not have Desert of Flames, the adventure pack The Fallen Dynasty, will allow you to level to 55 without the expansions. You can either purchase The Fallen Dynasty, or if you have all access on your account, you may already have access to this adventure pack.
Tier 6 Zones

Group XPing in Tier 6
In the lower 50s, the best spot for grouping is definitely the Clefts of Rujark. Found inside the Sinking Sands, this is a dungeon zone full of Rujarkian orcs of many varying levels. The Clefts consist of 3 floors and an instance. Stay on the lower 2 levels in you are in your low 50s. Mid 50s can wonder higher up and check out Scornfeather's Roost, which is an excellent instanced zone for levels 55-60, with wall to wall mobs and several named mobs. I personally spent tons of time in the Clefts, being a monk I was after the T6 Gi that drops in the War Room, but good groups always managed to get me an easy level or two each time we made a pass through.
Another great zone for grouping in this tier is the fun Shimmering Citadel. This zone is found through a mirror in the Pillar of Flames, though you can complete an access quest that gives you a mirror that can be used in either The Sinking Sands or the Pillars of Flame to be instantly teleported into the zone, you also receive a carpet for your home that does the same.
Once inside the Shimmering Citadel, you'll find it's broken up into two levels, the lower ground level, and the palace. The ground level is primarily solo mobs, but there are some heroics. Honestly, when going through there with a group, the ground level was just passage to the more interesting palace. Once in the palace, you will notice there are 4 towers. In these you can find mobs and quests. The quests up here are great, and I had lots of fun doing them. Also, please remember to do the Poets Palace access quest. this zone gave my groups something to do well into the 60s! If you aren't big on quests and like the idea of general grinding, the wisps in the courtyard are a nice kill, along with the roaming djinn in the area.
The Living Tombs, found in the Sinking Sands, has 50 to upper 50s mobs along with a epic zone. The Tombs is a large zone, with plenty to do. You'll find a couple good, yet lengthy quests that are nice to do with a group. The Vessel of Fyr'Un and Searching for the Silent City are two of the best quests in the zone, and are worth doing.
If you have the expansion Echoes of Faydwer, the T6 zone of Faydwer is Lesser Faydark. This is an outdoor zone with a mix of solo and heroic mobs. In the center northern part of Less Faydark, near The Great Tree you'll find a nice plethora of heroic creatures in the mid to upper 50s.
Tier 6 Heritage Quests
An Ancient Desert Power - You must be level 50 to begin this heritage quest. You'll need a "Piece of Ancient Parchment," a semi-rare dropped from Desert Madment and Lunatics (Level 45-50 in the Sinking Sands & the Pillars of Flame) to begin the quest. Reward: The Sceptor of Rahotep.
